In an ever increasingly sinful world and generation if one person has many others whom like them because of that commonality (sinful people think alike) I would hardly consider it a good attribute.
I doubt such a person would be so popular among the same crowd if he loved them enough to tell them they need to repent and follow Y'shua.
Instead they say, "follow my theology/doctrine....it's a perfect formula for salvation", and they are applauded by the masses... sad really.
