I know the word justification from the Bible. What can we learn about it? What does it mean to be justified? What is justification?
This describes what justified is.
"and are justified by His Grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put foward as an appropriation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteouness because in His divine forbearence he had passed over former sins." Romans 3:23-24
Justified is being made clean/righteous by the blood of the lamb by faith/believing in/trusting. So it is now of our power by by hand of God that we are cleaned. The cleansing brings reconciliation/fellowship with God.
"Since now therefore since we have been justified by His blood, much more SHALL WE BE SAVED By Him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled SHALL WE BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE." Romans 5:9-10
So cleaned by blood, made righteous, reconciled to fellowship to God clearly by Grace and faith and now 'WE SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE.' Is the story over? Some say yes. Scripture says no.
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead, by the Glory of the Father, we too MUST WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE. For IF we have been United with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurection like his. We know that OUR OLD SELF WAS CRUCIFIED so that the body of sin might be brought to nothing..." Romans 6:4-6
In the NEWNESS of Christ's life with our old self crucified.
"SO NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN AND HAVE BECOME SLAVES TO GOD, THE FRUIT YOU GET LEADS TO SANCTIFICATION AND ITS END ETERNAL LIFE." Romans 6:22
Justied is the beginning of a life made to be new in the image of Christ with and ending of eternal life.
Romans 2:13 NASB - 13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
Romans 3:4, 20, 24, 28, 30 NASB - 4 May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED." ... 20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. ... 24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; ... 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. ... 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.
Romans 4:2, 25 NASB - 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. ... 25 He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.
Romans 5:1, 9, 16, 18 NASB - 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ... 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. ... 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. ... 18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.
Romans 8:30 NASB - 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
1 Corinthians 6:11 NASB - 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
If you are going to do a thread, you need to have a clear position or proposition.
If you are going to do a thread, you need to have a clear position or proposition. You can't just quote 10 passages and see what happens. Your title seems to be asking: is everything in the Bible about justification? Is that what you meant?
Shalom.
Thank you for your comments here. You have spoken well.
The Bible speaks of justified or justification, etc.... How it speaks of these and what we do when we speak of these with our Theology, especially when it is based on what the Bible or scripture says, is important. It is this that is important to me here.

OK, and what do you mean by everything? Justification will not answer questions about brushing your teeth.
It is not a change in that person , although it will produce such.
So you want this thread to all about justification.
It is the fact that God can declare a person to be righteous because of what Christ did, no matter what they are like.
It is not a change in that person , although it will produce such. Instead it is a crediting or imputing of righteousness to their account as far as God keeps accounts. This means that they gain the benefit of the Holy Spirit who helps them do their part in the mission of God.
Another term for this non-experiential righteousness is 'reckoned' or 'counted.'
It is not quite accurate either, to say that it is 'the initial experience' of a Christian because all believers need it to their last day. God does not justify those who don't think they need it. which is an amazing dynamic that makes us humble and stops boasting, Rom 3.
Shalom. I believe you are implying that there is not an experience to being justified, but that you must change in order to be justified. Shalom.

The reverse cause and effect. Because God accepts you in Christ you are motivated to change a lot!

You have presented some useful information and scripture that helps someone to understand the word justification. Thank you.
May your understanding and teaching be refined. May you come to understand the truth of God's word in exactly the way that God wants you to understand it.
Shalom.

How much change proves that one was justified?
Shalom.Thank you. The same prayer for you, for His love and glory!
Shalom.
I do not know what you mean. But you have the opportunity to explain. What do you mean by the reverse cause and effect? It is true that once a person becomes a Christian or is justified they may understand God's grace and whether or not they have the power to overcome sin or have done so already they always want to obey and not sin, in so far as they understand sin is not for them any longer, having been saved and born again.
Shalom.
