is different than doing good works (deeds).
Although fantastic faith w/o works is totally useless.
And the Matthew 25 good deeds only concern the nations.

Any truth to that would be not acts towards salvation, or accordance to the OT, rather if one may define seeking as work, which is not the presumed intent, as it is usually construed as salvation acts, that is, building the stairway to heaven nonsense

I ain't no chain Yanker! Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to convey. Yes, the works that believers were ordained to do: Eph 2:10 these are of eternal value and works done from any other motive no matter how nobel are in God's sight valueless.
