Well dear diary the last 6 days have been eventful. I have been invited to a different church. I declined. I'd rather spend time and money directly helping those in need. I would rather pray while sitting on a log under a tree in a homeless camp than in a building.
Here on TOL I tried to do something uplifting and ran into loud negative forces. The attempts to derail the PRG have been many and continuous. Satan is crafty.
I also discovered that I can edit an older post and that doesn't move a thread up to the top of the active posts list. It also doesn't create a new reply that can be hit with reps. Valuable knowledge.
I apologized for something that I said in jest which was wildly misinterpreted. My apology was met with derision. Par for the course. In the future when I offend someone accidentally I guess apologies will just be a waste. Why bother.

Noteworthy items. The TOL-A-Thon begins soon. Zoo picked up an infraction which was very surprising. Res has put in a few appearances. The gazette has morphed into teardrop central and is in lockdown. Sky is still on vacation.

Wow, it has been 23 days since my last reflections. Thanks PX for the musical interlude.
The TOL-A-Thon took over the highlight, as it should. And it was successful as everyone hoped it would be. Kudos to BR and everyone who chipped in. Knight was his usual gracious self and rewarded various contributors where appropriate.
While we here at TOL pulled together to provide for another year Congress is tilting at windmills trying to defeat forces they create in their own minds. I predict the windmills will win.
So, will the new year bring greater understanding? Or will it bring dissension, animosity and verbose exchanges of holier than thou condemnations by those who rightly divide the word? I predict some of the first but more of the later.

Seventeen days since my last. My how time flies. I complimented a picture and panic erupted. So I tried to clarify by making a second compliment and that only made things worse. Soo then a Mod deleted my compliments which leaves it looking like I may have made some disparaging remark. So, for the record, I said Jack is cute. Somehow that caused a panic. :idunno: On the brighter side of things, Congress is about to default. I think the Republicans have finally found a way to return the house to Democratic control in 2014. Somehow I doubt this is a good thing. TOL seems to have calmed down quite a bit after the latest adjustments by Knight. My compliments to Knight. I watched the Lone Ranger movie recently. The one with Johnny Depp. It starts off kind of slowly and was a bit boring at first. But then the combination of special effects and dry humor takes it to places seldom reached by Hollywood. I recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. Whoever wrote the role for the horse should win 5 stars. And the bird. Hurricane season has been very quiet in the Atlantic but wild in the western Pacific and elsewhere. I find the contrast puzzling. Is it the power of prayer? Meanwhile I find myself wondering just how much carbon dioxide can be pumped into the atmosphere before breathing becomes a problem. Evidently quite a bit. But surely at some point it will affect life on this planet. Maybe some strange new life forms will evolve. I have 2 remaining children. Both daughters are in college. I worry about the world they are facing. Food, water, fuel and other basic necessities are strained. I think my generation and those that preceded us have done a miserable job. So, that's it for now. Nothing special. Life goes on.
A month has past since my last diary entry. Tambora and Vegas Cowboy are Mia and now meshak has gone silent. I hope all are well. I think several others are also missing. I am always saddened when a TOL member vanishes. It doesn't matter to me if the person was friend or foe because I love them all.
Speaking of that I notice the tabloid lord has locked his thread again. The word paranoid comes to mind.
Meanwhile zoo is becoming very sensitive about GM. I can't quite grok what that is about. I suspect, however, that the changes Knight made to the rep system is fueling zoo's frustration. Kudos to Knight.
Pope Francis is doing his best to focus believers on their own path and away from the condemnation of others. I admire his efforts. I am firmly convinced that when I die nothing beneficial can be obtained by me pointing to others.
