I would say that it is an idea born from the America centric perspective of the loudest voices today. The average American is an idiot who doesn't realize there's a whole world outside of America

I saw this. And a brief story on it not too long ago. They constantly lie about the age of the earth, for the specific reason of shaking their fist at God and to pull people from him.
