I will help define idiot. And I do not know to whom it applies. But it is self interpretive. This is Gods perspective on "idiots"

And honestly any name under fool will do. God is not picky regarding the names of who He names "a fool"

Is your foolish heart darkened? Has an unreasoning mind been given to you? Are you on track for being marked with a mark that will mark your grave among the wicked, whose memory is erased in a common unnamed grave, with one name fits all, the name, "a fool?"

I will talk to minds that can reason, and can logically conclude in sensibility.

The Bible doesn't just merely call someone a fool for saying in their heart "there is no God." The Bible declares them a fool for saying in their heart there is no God!

Calling them "a fool" is an opinion, name calling is just an opinion of who someone is.

Decalaring their name is "a fool." A name tells who you are, and gives a name to the life's story. And this fool's life is summed up and common name "a fool"

That's why people in the church shouldn't say "thou fool" to fellow believers. Believers are not fools, and not damned, as in contrast the fool is damned.

"Thou Fool" is a declaration of judgement.
It's a harsh judgement, reserved only for those who are damned, those who God has named fool!

Psalm 14

The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good.
2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3 They have all turned aside,
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.

The Old Testament tells of Him on every page. The veil will be lifted from the Jews soon and they will know Jesus the Messiah. A remnant of Jews will see Him.

There are unbelievers that would have you think they are faithful. Ignorance is innocent and can be helped. GOD alone can help those who knowingly go against what they believe in their heart.

The bible says believers should not call believers fools. But fool is applicable to the atheist as long as they are atheists. God says a fool says there is no God.
Believers are not fools because they know in their hearts there is God!
