I view solar, wind, geothermal, and so on, not as final solutions, but as the first steps to transitioning away from petroleum to a much more promising future--one that we can only imagine as science fiction at this time, but which I believe will become science fact well within the next few decades. Especially with the rise of AI and quantum computing, I think we will crack the secrets of truly cheap, clean, and virtually endless energy production, through fusion or perhaps even some as yet speculative methods (zero point energy?). Human potential will be tremendous if we can just survive the next couple of decades, I believe.

I also tend to think that mans greatest invention is that fire is hot.

Other then the electrons being pushed by the magnets to create electricity all of our power is generated by fire of some sort, including Solar and Nuclear.

The actual fact the energy is generated by magnetism is so little understood. I think there is something in that the Earth itself is probably generating energy on an unimaginable scale, we are just not doing research into these type of things. I think deliberately so that the Oil companies can make money.

I think the advancement of technology is deliberately being held back so as to keep those with the power in the power.

In the future once we discover that the Earth itself is generating Electricity, will those people look back on the Dark Ages when the oil companies were in charge of power?

Tesla was doing research concerning the Earth generating Electricity in the late 1800s and early 20th century. Who has been carrying on his research? and why has it stopped?
I say it has deliberately been stopped by the Oil companies.

I have to laugh at some of the assertions made in this thread. Conservatives are being played because companies like Exxon are pushing climate change? That's ludicrous. All it means is that the corporate leadership wants in on all the money to be made by efforts like the Paris Accord. They know how to make money and they will buy and sell carbon credits right along with Obama, Gore, Pelosi, etc.... You know, the 1%'ers. In other words they will participate in the lucrative fraud of buying and selling of the fraudulent carbon tax credits created by the socialists. It won't cost them or their corporations a cent. It will all come out of the pockets of the users of energy products, meaning of course, the average US citizen.

The people getting played are those supporting climate change and lots of taxation on corporations as they are too ignorant to understand the economics of how businesses operate. The cost of taxes to a corporation are simply added to the cost of the products they sell, thus their customers pay the taxes, not the corporation.

Also, the very idea that this fraud actually accomplishes anything legitimate is so dumb it's unbelievable. Yet barbie sticks to it like he's super glued to it.
