You have a misplaced faith.
I disagree. But that is the beauty of opinions.

You have a misplaced faith.
in 1st Timothy 5:8 (KJV) Paul appears to tie together behavior and faith,
What is heaven?
To be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
In fact, the Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh, even those outside of Christ.
in 1st Timothy 5:8 (KJV) Paul appears to tie together behavior and faith
Fine, then explain it, because what he says seems very clear to me, "if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."No it doesn't. And all of Paul's writings directly state otherwise.
I believe this too, so why does Paul say what he did, "he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel?" He hath denied the faith. In his behavior, he hath denied the faith, not in his confession. What you confess shows your heart. Not your control over the flesh.
I don't claim that.In fact, Paul rebukes your claims over bragging about behavior being tied to salvation.
Sneaky Sozo. And thanks to Sozo, wherever he is, over driving home this point.
Unbelievers are not Christians. They do not have Christ's Spirit.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. (Romans 8:9)
It does make you wonder why people have such a hard time understanding idiomatic expressions in the Bible.Paul does not say those that don't provide are an unbeliever. He is making a declaration about their behavior. You are adding to the text what is not there.
Come on, you're playing word games. He said he hath denied the faith. That's an unbeliever, shaking his fist at the Maker, no doubt about it. He hath denied the faith, I'm not adding anything to the text.Paul does not say those that don't provide are an unbeliever. He is making a declaration about their behavior. You are adding to the text what is not there.
Paul is using hyperbole, plain and simple.Come on, you're playing word games. He said he hath denied the faith. That's an unbeliever, shaking his fist at the Maker, no doubt about it. He hath denied the faith, I'm not adding anything to the text.
Come on, you're playing word games.
So you think it's a scare tactic. If an Apostle is employing a scare tactic, what would you think that he really meant by employing such a tactic? If it's not woodenly literally true that, "he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel," what exactly do you think is true? Could we say with definitive confidence that Paul is deeply concerned that the Church provide for her own, and specially for those of her own house?Paul is using hyperbole, plain and simple.
I wouldn't say "scare tactic", but it is clearly hyperbole. So you think it's a scare tactic. Then what would you say? It's hyperbole but you wouldn't say "scare tactic," then what? Explain.I wouldn't say "scare tactic", but it is clearly hyperbole.
Nope. You are most certainly trying to use the verse out of its context to make it meet your need to confirm your false doctrine.
Those, like you, that reject the truth of salvation by grace through faith
Nope again.always see "lose your salvation" verses all over the place. And, of course, they never apply to you because your faith is unquestionably perfect.
It doesn't say that he becomes an unbeliever. It's as simple as that. Then what would you say? It's hyperbole but you wouldn't say "scare tactic," then what? Explain.
You dared question my faith. The least you could do is explain what you think it does mean.It doesn't say that he becomes an unbeliever. It's as simple as that.
And just how did I do that? You dared question my faith.
I think that it means that believers should behave properly. The least you could do is explain what you think it does mean.
And just how did I do that?
Those, like you, that reject the truth of salvation by grace through faith always see "lose your salvation" verses all over the place. And, of course, they never apply to you because your faith is unquestionably perfect.
You wouldn't even put an exclamation point at the end of that?I think that it means that believers should behave properly.
