This is the sacred history of the Body of Christ in action in the world...
Do you really think Christianity died out with the death of the last of the 12 Apostles and was resurrected 2000 years later from the KJV??
The Faith of Christ has been active from generation to generation...
Christ did not fail in the human enfleshment of His Faith in His Body, the Church, for which Paul suffered...

No, I do not believe that, and it puzzles me how you could even ask such a question based on what I wrote.
Believers were no longer believing as much as was available for them to believe from scripture.
For some, they were allowing their pagan backgrounds to override the scripture they had been taught.
How long was it after the day of Pentecost that the signs, miracles and wonders that followed believers cease?
Why did they cease? Was God any less God? Was the truth of scripture any less truth?
Or did the believers quit believing the truth regarding the power that God made available to them? Acts 1:5,8
Those that allowed themselves to become most susceptible to their pagan beliefs and background in Rome became the Roman Catholics
They allowed their error to have the same ascendancy and even more prominence than the truths regarding Christ
Until the reformation, there was little truth from God's word being circulated at all, most certainly not among the common people.
Truth was being suppressed by the RCC.
Romans 1:1 NKJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
If you want history then you know that
The RCC has a history of suppressing truth.
The reformation was all about learning and teaching and dispersing truth.
