Incidentally, the moment that Jesus Christ chose and appointed the apostles to guide and teach his Church in his own name and by his very authority, the magisterial hierarchy was established.
It is noteworthy that by the end of the 1st century A.D., Christ's one historic Church was already being commonly referred to as "the Catholic Church."
Still no idea exactly what you're getting at.How do you imagine? The Bible says a married man, not a eunuch, as that is taking scripture out of context.
Jesus never chose and appointed apostles?! :doh:But that never happened.
Already categorically refuted in my previous post.As for hierarchy every man reports directly to Jesus Christ. There are no biblical middle men.
Post your proof. The Catholic church became universal through syncretism, some of this and some of that to appeal to everyone.
Oh ye of little faithPost your proof.
Post your proof.
The protestants search the scripture the way the Bereans did.
Grace (faith) builds upon Nature (reason). If someone makes a truth-claim, he ought to be able to provide reasonable support for his claim. I'm still waiting.Oh ye of little faith
Even if true, it would not equate to "syncretism," as you claim. :nono:All someone needs to do is to compare Catholicism with Mithraism. For example, "Sunday was kept holy in honour of Mithra, and the sixteenth of each month was sacred to him as mediator. The 25 December was observed as his birthday, the natalis invicti, the rebirth of the winter-sun, unconquered by the rigours of the season. (Catholic Encylopedia/ Mitraism)
You have not improved your position. What you have described here is not faith, it's intellect.Grace (faith) builds upon Nature (reason). If someone makes a truth-claim, he ought to be able to provide reasonable support for his claim. I'm still waiting.
And...?You have not improved your position. What you have described here is not faith, it's intellect.
Faith saves. Intellect does not.And...?
So the Bereans came up with a massive number of different interpretations that all contradicted each other? Really?
The Protestants believe the scriptures and do not worship idols, the Catholics ignore the scriptures and make many idols to worship.
You are on the wrong side of scripture.
Get rid of the idols, then.
