Biblical Clues to TEMPLE Location in the City of David

The PRIMARY reason for selecting the site for the Temple was the abundant supply of fresh running water.
Gihon Spring is a SIPHON SPRING. A siphon spring acts much like "Old Faithful" geyser. When the source cavity is full, the siphon brings forth water, under pressure, at the exit of the spring. When the source empties, the siphon is broken and the flow of water stops. There are only about 12 siphon springs on earth.
The "siphon effect" was broken due to an earthquake, and so Gihon Spring is now an ordinary spring, a mere trickle, and the water is no longer pure.

Example of a siphon spring:

PS: There are no springs on Haram al-Sharif (ie: "Temple Mount")

From Acts 22-23:10 Paul is in Jerusalem speaking before the Sanhedrin.
Now when there arose a great dissension, the [Roman] commander, fearing lest Paul might be pulled to pieces by them, commanded the [Roman] soldiers to go down [to the Temple area] and take him by force from among them, and bring him up into the [Roman Antonia Fortress] barracks. - Acts 23:10

Roman Fortress Antonia (aka: Haram al-Sharif, aka: "Temple Mount") is of a higher elevation, overlooking Herod's Temple. So, the Roman soldiers descended to the Temple to rescue Paul.

So what? The Bible has told us that the REAL temple and now the ONLY temple is in heaven, and it has been pointed out to you that Jesus and his co-rulers (his "bride") are the New Jerusalem. The physical temple in Jerusalem was a FORESHADOW of the real temple IN HEAVEN.

Wake up.

The eye of the Lion of Yhudah is the Gihon which ran dry in the great earthquakes of Golgotha, (Isa 6:4, Mat 27:51, 28:2). Below the eye is what is now called the Well of Souls. Even to this day the Muslims hang a lamp down from inside the eye to light the empty cavern below which is now called the Well of Souls. The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light; but if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness; how great is that darkness!

The red outline below is the southwest corner of the Kodesh Kodashim.
The eye is likely the original Gihon outlet just outside the south temple wall:

See how his face was marred, disfigured, and cut up?
It was carved up to make him the foundation Corner Stone.

"Behold, My servant shall deal wisely, he shall be exalted and lifted up exceedingly. As many were astonished at you, (so disfigured by man was his countenance; and his form by sons of men)..."

Isaiah 1:1
1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2 Chronicles 32:30
30 And Hezekiah himself stopped the upper outlet (going forth) of the waters of Gihon, and directed them beneath to the west of the city of David, and Hezekiah prospered in all his work:

And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh YHWH of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. - Zech 6:12-13

It was probably also Isaiah the Prophet who advised king Hezekiah to smash the face of Nehushtan beyond recognition, (the brazen Seraph from the wilderness), because the people were burning incense to it; which of course means they were praying to it, (2Kings 18:4). :)

The trail of (scriptural) "bird-seed" to follow hasn't been completely laid-out for you yet....

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch,
and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall
execute judgment and justice in the earth.

Jeremiah 23:5

This prophecy will literally be fulfilled at least a thousand years prior to your prophecy. Perhaps you've never heard of the "New Heavens and New Earth"??

Note the site of the Temple would have been very near Gihon Spring.
That is where the next Temple will be built. It is SOUTH of the "Temple Mount".

conquering-jebusite-jerusalem-1050x1123x300.jpg

What is now called the "Temple Mount" was originally a high rocky outcropping, which can be seen inside the "Dome of the Rock". Later, the walls were built by the Romans and the area was "filled in" with debris, to make a flat 35 acre Roman Fortress Antionia, which endures to this day.

Bob Cornuke (born 1951[citation needed]) is an American writer and president of the Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration Institute (BASE), which is operated from his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.[1] He describes himself as a Biblical archaeologist, but has no degree or training in archaeology.[1]...

He holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Ph.D. in Bible and Theology, both from the unaccredited Louisiana Baptist University.[2] He is the author of six books about his explorations. Cornuke uses the Bible as a literal guide for his explorations, and gives it priority over secular and historical sources.

James K. Hoffmeier describes him as "a former Los Angeles SWAT policeman and more recently a real estate agent" in his 2005 book Ancient Israel in Sinai: The Evidence for the Authenticity of the Wilderness Tradition.[3]

Cornuke claims to have discovered the anchors from the Apostle Paul’s shipwreck in Marsaskala, as described in the Bible's Book of Acts, chapter 27 — by searching the sea floor off the coast of Malta.[4]

Just goes to show that if one does not understand what he reads then the same will not understand where to look, (Judges 1:8, 21, 1Chr 2:5, 1Chr 2:21-22, 1 Chr 2:23 KJV, Num 32:41, Deut 3:14, Mat 19:1, (and many other places which have been redacted or altered such as Mat 4:25), Ezekiel 47:8, (the living waters flow into the Galilah and north Arabah from the sides of the north, [the northernmost fountain of Yarden in the sanctuary at Antioch Panium])). The disciples were most likely predominantly of the Hasidim from the north, (there were four heads or houses of the Perushim).

The Temple location was south of the Haram al Sharif, in the City of David.
Jews were banished from Jerusalem for 1,000 years, and when they returned
they had lost knowledge of the Temple location. Instead, they chose the
location of the 8-sided Christian church as the location (later renamed
the "Dome of the Rock" by the Muslims). The "City of David" had become
a plowed field with no signs of buildings. It is only recently become
the site of archeological excavation.

The Temple location was south of the Haram al Sharif, in the City of David.

I know of no claims that the Haram was ever a thresing floor.

But it's a fact that God placed a veil on the minds and understanding of the Jews.

And it seems many Christians have pulled that veil over themselves as well.

Another professional production concerning the location of the Temple in the City of David.
Note how the author correctly notes that the mount called "Zion" was completely removed (in about 150 BC)
from the SOUTHERN end of the City of David and used to fill-in the Valley of the Cheesemongers.

The problem there is that the evidence says there was never a 'mountain' there because of a 2,800 years old inscription found on a wall of the tunnel, 6m from the end of the tunnel at the Shiloah pool. This inscription, 6 lines of ancient Hebrew script carved on the limestone rock, was one of the important findings of Biblical archaeology in the 19th Century. It was found in 1880 and brought to Istanbul, where it is on display today. The Shiloah (Siloam) inscription tells the story of the tunnel, and how the two teams of diggers met after cutting the tunnel on both ends:

"... (When) (the tunnel) was driven through. And this was the way in which it was cut through: While (...) (were) still (...) axe (s), each man toward his fellow, and while there were still three cubits to be cut through, (there was heard) the voice of a man calling to his fellow, for there was an overlap in the rock on the right (and on the left). And when the tunnel was driven through, the quarrymen hewed (the rock), each man toward his fellow, axe against axe; and the water flowed from the spring toward the reservoir for [twel]ve hundred cubits, and the height of the rock above the head of the quarrymen was 100 cubits". (W.F. Albright, ANET 321)

http://www.biblewalks.com/Sites/Gihon.html

Hezekiah's Tunnel was therefore 1200 cubits long = 512.5 meters = 0.427m/cubit

and was 100 cubits underground = 42.7 meters

Today the tunnel is still 39.6 meters (130 feet) below the ground surface above on the Ophel:

There never was a 'mountain there as you believe. Utterly ridiculous!

Please start using evidence rather than imagination.
