Once upon a time I thought that way but honestly, God's not responsible for people's actions which can make churches become as you describe. Maybe next time you see a church, you can think of just this:

Bodiam Castle in East Sussex, not too far from where I live.

You've got a great eye for composition. This one breaks most of the rules, and still comes off great. I had to do a little tonemapping:
I found this little church about 200 yards from the Rio Grande, in a little community in the Valley.
It's not much smaller than the one I attended back in Iowa many years ago.

One of my favorite parks in the area. Not for the faint of heart, or children under 10.

That's awesome! I think I may still have family in England. They were in Heaton Norris, Stockport in the 1800's.
