Are you another one of those person's who must rub another person's nose in the dirt in order to achieve satisfaction?

I'm still trying to figure out what you were going for with your original comment and then this thread, where you never actually explained exactly what you were apologizing for or about.

I will try one more time to clear this up. I spoke out of turn whilst angered over what I interpreted to be a racist comment. And am ashamed to say that I responded in kind, not to be racist, but to show that such comments are all offensive.
I know that you have been salivating over an opportunity to rub my nose in my own dirt. Well, go ahead Shylock!
I misspoke in anger and am heartily ashamed of such a lapse.

Yes and whilst I believe that my responses to you that were harsh were in return for extreme misrepresentation and discourtesy on your part, still, once I realized how tender you are I ceased and desisted.
Now, I am very careful of you.

Did you seriously actually just say that?

Bybee posted an apology. In my mind you either accept the apology and move on with your life it or you don't and Bybee moves on with hers.

The grace with which someone accepts, or does not accept, an apology speaks more of the character of the one being apologized to then it does the nature of the offense being apologized for.

He is a character in a Shakespearian drama. He is often held up as an example of vindictiveness run amok.
Yes I did say that.

I know full well. Shylock's a Jewish stereotype with a foul connotation. You couldn't have gone out of your way to directly insult me if you were trying. I've mentioned many times here that I'm half-Jewish.

Nicely done.

Please....

Its pretty clear what Bybee was saying.

Shylock is a character in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice who demands his pound of flesh as payment for a debt.

Which is what she feels (rightly I think) you are doing....

Sorry dude, but I think you're reaching on this one. I don't think the term was used with any deliberate connection to Jewishness, and I doubt most of us realize or remember that you're half Jewish, anyway.

(Does that mean you're half offended? ;) )

You know very well what my intent was. My foster father was Jewish. I am a staunch defender of the Jewish people as well as the Jewish faith.
You want the freedom to insult, smear and judge others, yet leap to victimhood over the slightest disagreement.
I pray you understand that I would not insult you in such a way.
I would, however, insult you in other ways when you have it coming.

I think that Bybee has already apologized for something that she didn't even intend to be offensive.

IF someone doesn't wish to accept her apology and move on, that is their issue.

Then you should know better than to use a word with a long anti-semitic history.

This thread's beyond ridiculous.

My usage was germane to your behavior. Nothing else.
I'd really like to be done with this.
Please Granite, give me the benefit of the doubt.

You stepped in it whether you meant to or not, which pretty much sums up this farce of a thread.

The gracious necessaries having been accomplished let the remainder be, instead, a reflection of that same grace or want thereof in others.

You choose to belittle my attempts to apologize by calling it a "farce"? Do you not see that is demeaning and unforgiving?
