An Apology!

What was your understanding of the words "snow flakes"?

Fluffy, cold specks of white rain that fall from the sky.

Made me think of a line from Fight Club: "You are not a beautiful and unique snow flake." Quetzal's usage was pretty easy to understand: Delicate self-centered prigs who think the world revolves around them. Which made bybee's retort so uncalled for and bizarre and distasteful.

Since I have never seen the movie "Fightclub", that meaning wouldn't have ever occurred to me. Then again, there is a rather large age gap .... meaning some of we older folks aren't aware of the current slang.

Yes, I really did.

Are you so jaded you took it as a racial attack because of the word snowflake?
Pardon me, but just because someone didn't take your expression as exactly what you meant it to be, does not prove they are a jaded person; now does it?

I better not tell you what my favorite soup topping is, then. (It's a saltine cracker, by the way.)
Ummm, having a cracker with your soup is not the same as calling a group of people "crackers".
You do recognize the difference, don't you?

The opposite of "white flake" was my intent.
I am apologizing for the whole thread. It was constructed in anger and I should know better. I am apologizing for my sophomoric behavior.

I must have missed the whole thing, however, it's over. You apologized.

Apologies are apparently less rare than forgiveness.

Well, let's not be ignorant to the fact that it can also mean ....

snowflake
A derogatory term for a white person.

It can, but it didn't with the context of the rest of the sentence. Don't be purposefully dense for the sake of creating another argument.

Thats how i took what you said also especially since many lib writers these days are using the term exactly how tambora showed it. Seems to be a flavor of the month.
