Christ being the covenant AND one of the parties is like Christ being the mediator AND the ransom in I Tim 2:6. In the case of being the covenant, there is a third sense: that he is doing it for Israel so that Israel can get the mission of Christ accomplished. Rom 15 puts more clearly than any of us can:

Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy

1, he served Israel in the Gospel
2, he did so acting as the fulfillment of prophetic truth
3, it fulfilled the promises made to the fathers. Those who compartmentalize 'confirm' are just being devious, as the context of 15 shows.
4, through all of this the Gentiles come into faith and glorify God
5, this is also the mercy of God. Not a restored land or 2nd round for Judaism, but what is going on in the whole church or mission.

The ruling over the nations of Is 11 is fulfilled in Christ and his Gospel which gives the Gentiles hope, Rom 15:12.

This is why it impossible to belong to D'ism. It has a totally off-center, Christ-less mindset.

Of course, there are some who put Judaism and Christ on identical levels. In which case there would have been zero conflict in the 1st century!

None, but you have a shallow understanding of the Gospel and the New Covenant.

Jesus Christ is the source of the new and better Covenant of Redemption:

The grace that forgives sinners, is the manifestation of the Everlasting Gospel which was covenanted in Christ before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:3-4

Jesus Christ is representative and Mediator of all souls chosen in Him for redemption. Ephesians 1:5

Jesus Christ performed all covenant on behalf of those the Father gave Him to save. Ephesians 1:6

Jesus Christ ratified this new covenant of forgiveness with His life's blood. Ephesians 1:7

Jesus Christ gifts these justified souls with wisdom, prudence, and knowledge of God's will. Ephesians 1:8-9

Jesus Christ sacrificially incarnated to do this righteous work; even unto death on the cross, according to His good pleasure, in order to gather His spiritual children out of all times, to provide them access to His throne in His kingdom of heaven. Ephesians 1:9-10

Jesus Christ reason for representing, mediating, performing, ratifying, and sacrificing His body and blood, was to provide His people a share in His inheritance and glory. Ephesians 1:11-12

Jesus Christ has guaranteed all the promises of this better covenant, by sending His Holy Spirit to cleanse, anoint, seal, and indwell all given faith to trust in His righteousness. Ephesians 1:12-14

All of these factors constitutes the one, true, Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the Everlasting Gospel, because He is everlasting and Eternal. Revelation 14:6

The rest of the N.T. validates the brief points of the Gospel as presented in Ephesians Chapter One. There is no scripture in all the N.T. that argues against, adds to, or omits from the above truths.

Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, not the recipient. Period.

You respond in argument within one minute of my post. I did not even finish giving it an edit polish before you deny what is taught by Paul to the church at Ephesus (and throughout the rest of his epistles)!

Which reveals you have no love for truth at all.

This is why God is judging you and your ilk with great delusions.

This is why you must resort to mocking and ridicule . . you possess no Truth or love for Jesus Christ.

Unless Christ grants you repentance and changes your heart to hunger and thirst for knowledge of His righteousness, you will never share His inheritance or glory. (Which is His portion He receives of the Covenant He promised and performed for His people.)

Because I believe the scripture, Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, not the recipient.
The Bible tells me who the recipient is.

Jesus Christ is the source of the new Covenant. If He had not incarnated, all souls would have perished under the condemnation of the Old Covenant of Law.

Jesus Christ is the recipient of the inheritance of glory promised to Him to share with His saints.

Your views deliberately truncate the gospel message. This is because you do not love the Truth.

The two - mocking and knowing the truth - are not always necessarily exclusive in some people.

There are plenty of people within all schools of thought - including yours - who ever resort to mocking anyone who does not hold to their view.

You yourself at times "stoop to that."

Why?

Because "knowledge" unchecked "puffeth up."

Which does not necessarily mean the knowledge itself is either sound, or not.

Nevertheless, Rom. 5:8, nang.

In the parable of the vineyard workers, the son is sent last. He is both mediator and representative of the owner. He is also the one killed.

Like Christ being mediator, there is representation going on. thus the NT explodes with a pile of co- words: co-heirs, co-sharers, co-citizens, co-inheritors. (Another English that is used for all this is joint-) The whole reason this exists is because the other party is Christ and he represents all who believe on him. They gain only as they are in him.

That is how the NT defeats race and biology based theology like D'ism.

This same act also brings us as believers to the city above, the Jerusalem above. It is also the 'church of the firstborn' (the representation is built-in to that phrase). and to the blood of the new covenant, of Christ, that says better things than that of the victim Abel.

Obviously from all the passages in Hebrews, it is not Israel the race or biology that receives this (new covenant benefits). So it is OK to say it is Israel, provided you mean those in Christ. It's why the new covenant is about justification from sins, not land in Judea or the 'strange teachings' of the ceremonial food at the temple, 13:9.

Not a few passages of Hebrews are about the minority remnant that actually believe (11:39) who realize like Abraham that the land itself is not the promise (11:10, 12:22).

All the things in the new covenant in hebrews are for all people who believe on Christ for their justification from their sins.

Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, just as Moses mediated the old covenant.

Both covenants are with Israel and Judah, PER SCRIPTURE. Get on board with scripture, lose the commentaries and statements of faith.
