Alan Keyes calls Obama a radical communist

Funny that my husband just sent me a link to this very video last week. He certainly isn't pulling any punches, the trouble is, the same people that didn't listen last November, aren't listening now either. I wonder what exactly it will take to wake people up to what is really happening in Washington.

Actually, there's already a fairly widespread shift in public opinion against what is going on in Washington. According to Gallup polls only 39% of the public supports Obama's proposed budget and 66% oppose any additional economic stimulus bills.

And it's going to get worse. Right now we're a bit of lull in the housing market collapse as we get through the tail end of rates reseting on sub-prime mortgages, but come this summer it's going to gear up again the first large number of Alt-A and Option Adjustable Rate Mortgages then begin to reset, people's mortgage payments skyrocket and we'll likely see yet another massive round of foreclosures which won't end until sometime in early 2012.

And this is just one of several major economic problems that we haven't yet seen in full force yet.

So as clear as it's already becoming to people that what the Obama administration is attempting to with the economy, the clarity of it will only increases in the coming months and years.

The problem though is that even once people realize this, what then? Neither major party is articulating any sort of program that will lead to a real recovery from this, and there's no group outside of the two major parties capable of even reaching a large enough portion of the American public to offer a credible alternative to them.

The overwhelming majority of Americans blame banks and the businesses for the downturn, and specifically not Obama. Keep dreaming that he isn't getting a second term.

And it's going to get worse.

You got that right. Rush is wrong. It wont' take a generation or 25 years to undo his damage. It will never be undone. I can't see it.

The "remnant", those Republicans that didn't lose their seats, have proposed correct legislation that won't pass. I still don't trust them. But that is besides the point. It is the only thing to right the ship, and it isn't going to happen. The only thing that shake the bushes in their favor is what Keyes did, and call Obama what he is.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/0401200...icans_propose_big_tax_cuts__spendi_162389.htm

WASHINGTON -- Republicans in the House Wednesday pressed a budget plan that would cut taxes and radically overhaul Medicare, offering a stark alternative to blueprints offered by President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies.

The plan, drafted by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the top Republican on the Budget Committee, also freezes overall spending on domestic programs passed by Congress each year and repeals most of the spending in Obama's recently passed economic stimulus bill.

Despite spending reductions, the plan projects permanent deficits exceeding $500 billion into the future, fueled largely by big tax cuts.

The GOP plan would offer a dramatically simplified tax code in which couples would have the option of a 10 percent rate on the first $100,000 of income, with a 25 percent rate thereafter, with the first $25,000 of income exempt from taxation. Single could get a $12,500 exemption and a 10 percent rate on income up to $50,000.

Taxpayers could also opt to remain in the current system.

On Medicare, workers under the age of 55 would enroll in private plans and receive premium subsidies equal to the average Medicare benefit when they retire. Benefits would not be changed for people in the program or people 55 or older.

Democrats warned that the GOP.....

This is their ploy to get votes back. The sad part is, it is the right thing to do.

What then? What do weak, uneducated people do when they get hungry? They turn to the government, and socialism will quickly turn to communism.

Since you seem to know so much about communism have you read Karl Marx? Surely anyone who has had any freshman level Western Civ survey class should have.

There is nothing western or civilized about the Manifesto. You don't really think I didn't take all the easy poli-sci classes first did you?

*wondering if we don't have another liar with regards to political affiliation*

I saw that a couple months ago, but it still rocks. Alan Keyes was dead on

 At least from the neck up...

He told people that in Illinois (that Obama was a communist) and now “everybody realizes it’s true”?

Maybe, if by everybody he means the people on the “John Birch was a lefty” mailing list.

I do agree with one thing he said, it's time for people to start acting like grown ups. When national leaders suggest America is on the verge of revolution and refuse to acknowledge the sworn leader of our country they take us a step closer to the sort of fractured and violence ridden society we're currently attempting to end in Iraq.

:sigh:

Not when the government is already bankrupt. There's just so many things going on at this point that I don't think what is going to happen is really predictable at this point.

I am no communist. I'm not looking at this from a poli-sci aspect, I'm looking at it more of a historical background.

The vast majority of Americans would have no clue whatsoever who the heck Alan Keys is.

If they did know who he is and what he stands for, no doubt the vast majority would consider him some sort of maniac, maybe even a dangerous maniac.

And what are the odds that Alan Keys or anyone like Alan Keys will ever gain any real political traction in our branch of the multiverse?

Zero.

Then why has he been talked about on cable and major network shows? Why was he mentioned on the news? All during the last presidential campaign season...

I have no idea. Why does the news media give so much time to political irrelevancies like Keys, Ron Paul, Anne Coulter, Pat Robertson, Britney Spears, and so forth? I suppose it is cheaper than going to the circus, though.

It wasn't a newscaster who mentioned, but rather a regular Joe who was being interviewed about the election. You know, one of those people who, according to you, doesn't know who Keyes is.
