I'm happy for you Knight, but a little concerned.

TOL has been a great hard core training ground for practicing tolerance of narrow minded biggoted abusive self righteous ignorant self centered pharisaic (did mention abusive?) homophobic vitriolic women bashing man hating fanatical misguided xenophobic zealots!

I mean, that's been a real public service!

Maybe you could re-open truthsmack.com just as a place to vent (and be vented upon?)

Seriously, don't make the place too tame, I visit other sites and for the most part they are boring. Hard to argue when everyone agrees or keeps things nicey nice. That's why you need us left wingers, otherwise there's nothing to debate about...

There was a time when the smackage was fun, but then it turned
into tolerance of really horrifying nasty stuff on the right and banning
and infractions for expressing an opposing opinion towards the left.

If this new trend re-opens an era of "civil" more evenhanded
smackage, then I welcome it.

And Knight, all kidding aside, I have really appreciated this site over
the years...

and I accept your apology... ;)

Dave

PS:

Homosexuality is still a sin.
Abortion is still murder.
God is still free.
Welfare and public schools are still bad.

Promiscuity is still the sin, not homosexuality by itself
Women's health and lives still matter too
God is still in complete control (thank God)
Less fortunate people still need a hand up and access to decent public education.

:D

Homosexuality is sin. God said that men shall not lie with men as with women, but if they do they should be stoned. :duh:

Jesus asked us to understand the OT physical laws in Spiritual terms.

There are people out there who are physically male and mentally,
emotionally, and spiritually females.

And as far as stoning goes, Jesus had something to say about that too, ye who are without sin...

Define "male" and "female" in spiritual terms and the OT laws and admonitions of Paul make sense. :thumb:

Dave,

The apostle Paul predicted exactly the garbage you're trying to pass off as truth:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

A physical male but a spiritual female?
Where do you come up with that?

Okay, this email came to me stating TOL is gonna be kinder and gentler. I've stayed away from this place the last few years specifically because it's the only board I've found where the folks who run it are bigger Edit than I ....and I rate pretty high in the Edit category.

I'll come back after the first of the year and see it y'all have really changed from "dogma smack" (NOT truth smack) to a kinder, gentler nation. I have my doubts.

I'm not sure I read the part where "cordial correction" encompassed a new tolerance for implied profanity.
