The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

It's called Spyglass. http://happymagenta.com/spyglass/ It has a lot of settings, not all of which are intuitive. You might need to fiddle with it to get it set up the way you want it. Also, and this is IMPORTANT for the purposes of this experiment.... Everyone needs to have it set to...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

So that's pretty cool, really. You can see that the sky is lit up just about the same as in mine only one hour apart. Also, the sky darkens way too rapidly for it to be disappearing into the distance. You go from full daylight to near totally dark in well under two hours. Your third one is cool...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Yeah! I was thinking that from the moment I snapped the 01:00 UCT photo last night. Although people should be careful about how long they have the Sun shining into their camera. What do you think about starting an hour earlier and only continuing through to 03:00 UCT if we have someone in the...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Here's all three of my photos: 01:00 UTC: Sun at -.2° below horizon... 02:00 UTC Sun at ~-10° below horizon... 03:00 UTC Sun @ -23° below horizon (well outside of image)...

Okay, the file format seems to be the issue. The iPhone saves it as a PNG file. I'll convert everything to jpg from now on.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I do! Clicking the little 'insert image' icon above where you type the post is the only way I know of to put a picture in a post. I've never had so much trouble with this sort of thing. :idunno:

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I changed the file format to jpg and added the new image to the posts. If you now see two links, click the second one and see if it works.

It's works for me. Is anyone else not getting it? How do these guys get the big image inside their post?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

You might need to play around with the settings (there's a lot of them). You want to make sure the font color is one that will show up well against the sky, etc.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Due west @ 21:00 hours (02:00 UTC) @ my back yard (click on image for full sized pic)... The greenish light on the right is a large yard light in my neighbor's yard (I hate it!) Notice the position of the Sun shown by the app nearly off the right side of the screen about -10° or so below the...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Umm, I've got bats flying around in my back yard already. It's gonna be dark as can be in an hour where I live.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Okay 1:00 UCT from my back yard (click the image to see it full sized)... Notice that I have the camera pointed very nearly at the real horizon rather than at the tree tops in the distance. The app I was using shows the position of the Sun when I took the photo which was just -.2 degrees...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

One more suggestion... Again, if you're using an iPhone, you can download an app called Spyglass. Its a compass app that allows you to take screen shots that look like this... It has all the data on the image, including the exact time and precise directional heading and location. That way...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

If you have an iPhone, the clock app on the home screen will tell you what time it is UTC. Here in Texas, we're 5 hours behind UTC which means 01:00 UTC is 20:00 CDT here. Knight, would you prefer the camera oriented vertically or horizontally? (I'll take one both ways.) Also, for...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Quite right! There NO WAY that the Sun or Moon should ever even appear to be larger on the horizon if the flat earth silliness is true.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

No, the Sun was not huge. It may have seemed huge to you but it was precisely - PRECISELY - the same size in the sky as it always is. Same goes for the Moon. It does not change size when closer to the horizon - period. The reason it seems otherwise occasionally is because, when it is closer to...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Oh, I know that the connections you're making aren't actually vague and disparate but that is Patrick's accusation against you, isn't it? I'm just pointing out the irony of a conspiracy theory lunatic objecting to something on the basis of, "For the life of me I can't see how your mind makes...
