Turbines bin around for a very long time

In 1849, British–American engineer James Francis developed the first modern water turbine – the Francis turbine – which remains the most widely-used water turbine in the world today.
Over 150 years later we have massive dams using old technology.
How much do you really suppose that old technology has been improved?
Won't the same be said about nuclear reactors, and wind turbines?
In 150 years we will be able to shoot the spent nuclear fuel rods into the sun !!....unless there are baby seals there.

My "trip" may not be all fun and games now, but if I endure faithfully to the "off ramp", the future is so bright I'll have to wear shades !

There you go prophesying again.
I didn't even know turbines had bee around for twenty years.

In twenty more years, we may be using them for fuel !

Used Wind Turbine Blades Pose a Growing Waste Problem

What happens to wind turbine blades after their operational lifespan ends? Although wind power is considered one of the cleanest types of energy, there are a lot of waste management challenges that will have to be solved as the medium becomes a go-to energy source.
The challenge presented with discarding a turbine blade is that they can’t be recycled.

I am surprised you can see so much wrong with an alternate future but can't see anything wrong with what we have today.

That seems kinda closed minded to me.
I spent several years doing maintenance on buildings and equipment on industrial sites, including nuclear and coal fired power generating stations. I know power generation is not free from its problems, but I am also aware that some of what Global Warming alarmist kooks propose is ridiculous and unfeasible.

Personally, I wish they would scrap NASA and send all that money to build affordable housing, and job training.
Free market capitalism builds houses that can be afforded by buyers who have saved or secured the necessary capital to use for their purchase. Socialism and Capitalism build houses with other people's money they can then provide at reduced rates to the lazy, the greedy, the covetous, the addict, the unemployed, the unemployable, the criminal, the illegal, the irresponsible, and the indigent.

Ever heard of a two speed rear-end in a car?
It results in better mileage at higher speeds.
Gearing !!!

As you said earlier, it is already generating 1%.
In ten years, it may be up to 25%.
Don't be such a pessimist !
The researchers over at the wind energy lab are already working on increasing the power outputs of wind turbines.

Since the early 2000s, wind turbines have grown in size—in both height and blade lengths—and generate more energy. What’s driving this growth? Let’s take a closer look. ...
Turbine towers are becoming taller to capture more energy, since winds generally increase as altitudes increase. ...
If bigger is better, why aren’t even larger turbines used currently? Although turbine heights and rotor diameters are increasing, there are a few limitations.

You wish?
What is keeping you back from reaping the profits on your, hopefully, unending money stream?

Food Crisis: German Farmers Warn of Drought-Related Crop Failure on Top of Grain, Fuel, Fertiliser Woes

TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY Nicolas Cheviron: Picture dated 02 August 2007 shows dried-up sunflowers at a farmland in eastern Thrace city of Tekirdag. In western Turkey, where the lakes are drying up and the blazing sun burns the crops, a 10-month-long drought has ravaged farming and is now …

Farmers in the east of Germany are warning of widespread crop failures due to a lack of rainfall in the region.
Things may soon go from bad to worse for shoppers in Germany and beyond as farmers in the east of the country warn that a lack of rainfall could result in crop failures.

How do we improve hydroelectric power generation? Must it be improved or replaced? Must nuclear energy be replaced? Apparently not, since Global Warming alarmists are taking renewed interest in nuclear power for its lack of carbon emissions.
However, in recent years, countries like France, the US, China, and India have shown renewed interest in nuclear power, announcing plans to build new plants in the years ahead as part of their net-zero roadmaps. According to Rystad Energy, investments in nuclear are projected to reach USD$46 billion in 2023, up from USD$44 billion in 2021.

Is increasing dependence on wind power the best idea?

I like that photo of that wooden windmill. Very interesting.

Workers who enter a hot nuclear plant are closely monitored for levels of radiation exposure. Nobody gets too high a dose except in extremely rare accidents.

Possibly. More Americans will go broke because of socialist government taxation extortion schemes designed to redistribute the wealth of the working to those unwilling or unable to work.
