Where do we find the word "repent" here:
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life" (Jn.5:24).
Ask yourself what Jesus wants us to believe.
It is about forgiveness of sins.
How do you think you just have forgiveness of sins if you do not repent of your sins?
Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
Not only that, do you know that John the baptizer prepared the way for Jesus?
The people had to repent of their sins before Jesus would come to them.
John the baptizer prepared the way for Jesus. He came preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins (Luke 1:76-80).
76 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
We are still to confess that we are sinners, and to repent, to prepare the way for Jesus Christ to live in our heart.
Where do we read the word 'repent" here?:
"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:30-31).
Where do we read the word "repent" here?:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Ro.1:16).
Again, believe what? We have to believe we have forgiveness of sins through Jesus. That includes repenting of those sins.
And all the scriptures that say ‘believe’ they do not nullify all the scriptures that say ‘obey’.
