Zambia News Outlet Laments ‘Pressure’ From Western World to Legalize Homosexuality

An editorial published by a news outlet in Zambia, Africa on Wednesday laments Western pressure upon developing countries to legalize homosexuality and says that Zambia is a Christian nation that seeks to be governed by biblical principles.
“In recent years, many developing countries have come under pressure from some sections of the Western world to embrace homosexuality in exchange for financial help. Those countries with the financial muscle use that to lure developing countries through hefty donations,” the Zambia Daily Mail piece, entitled “Homosexuality: Not in Zambia,” reads.
It thanks President Edgar Lungu for resisting calls to allow homosexual behavior in the nation...

“For Zambia, which is a Christian nation as enshrined in the Constitution, embracing homosexuality is an affront to the declaration. Through the declaration as a Christian nation, Zambia chose to be governed by biblical principles,” the Zambia Daily Mail states.
“The Bible is very clear about homosexuality; it is an abomination and is detestable before the eyes of God. It is a rebellion against God. God created human beings as male and female to get married and multiply and raise families,” it notes...

As previously reported, in late May, President Trump tweeted support for the U.S. effort to decriminalize homosexuality worldwide, which is being led by openly-homosexual ambassador to Germany Rick Grenell.
“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,” he wrote.
“My administration has launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality and invite all nations to join us in this effort!” Trump urged.
In February, NBC News reported that “[t]he U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality — mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.”
Grenell noted in April that Vice President Mike Pence was “fully on board with my push to decriminalize homosexuality around the world.”

Miriam Rivera, the first openly transgender reality TV star, died on February 5 in Mexico.
She was 38 years old, and her husband, Daniel Cuervo, confirmed the news in a Facebook post. Even though she died several months ago, the news broke on Friday.
According to reports, Rivera was found in her apartment and died under mysterious circumstances. She allegedly hung herself but Cuervo is disputing that she died by suicide...

In 2016 Log Cabin Republicans refused to endorse then-candidate Donald Trump.

For 2020, the largest national grassroots group representing LGBT conservatives and allies has completely changed its tune. In a widely circulated Washington Post op-ed published Thursday, the group’s chairman and vice chairwoman, Robert Kabel and Jill Homan, explained that “Trump met his commitments to LGBTQ Americans.” Thus, they write, “He has our endorsement.”

This comes as a shock to many on the activist Left, but it really shouldn’t. It makes complete sense that for gay Republicans, who otherwise support most of the GOP’s agenda, President Trump’s record on gay and lesbian issues is good enough to earn their endorsement. He’s certainly the most pro-gay Republican president in American history.
As the Log Cabin leaders note, Trump has fought to end HIV, launched a campaign to decriminalize homosexuality internationally, and appointed high-level gay people to his administration, such as Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell.
Trump waved the rainbow flag at a campaign rally, entered office fine with same-sex marriage, and just recently said it was “great” to see Pete Buttigieg, an openly gay married man, running for president. The president said he had “no problem with it whatsoever.”
It’s very clear that when it comes to gay issues, Trump represents a new, more-evolved generation of Republicans. As Log Cabin acknowledges in their op-ed, a few Trump administration policies such as the transgender military ban stand out as exceptions to the rule in an otherwise good record. But even this is not the radical assault on transgender equality that critics paint it to be — rather, it’s just a return to the hard-line policy that reigned supreme under former President Obama for several years.

The Trump administration on Friday filed a brief with the Supreme Court arguing that federal civil rights laws do not protect transgender workers.
The filing relates to the case of Aimee Stephens, a transgender woman who was fired as the funeral director of R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. in Detroit after she told owner Thomas Rost that she planned to transition from male to female and would be representing herself as a woman while at work.
In March 2018, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the funeral home had violated Title VII anti-discrimination laws in the decision, with the court ruling that “discrimination on the basis of transgender and transitioning status is necessarily discrimination on the basis of sex" and therefore protected under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

SCOTUS will be hearing 3 cases in an upcoming session, two of them deciding whether or not those who identify as homosexual are protected from employment discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

If you care about religious freedom/private property rights, why didn't your brief to SCOTUS deal with those employers who feel uncomfortable and refuse to hire openly proud and unrepentant homosexual men and women?

Gary Ray Bowles—the so-called “I-95 Killer” who savagely slayed six gay men during an eight-month murder spree in the 1990s—was executed in Florida on Thursday night after the Supreme Court rejected a last-ditch appeal...

He was sentenced to death in 1997 after confessing to the half-dozen murders, which all took place between March and November 1994 along the eastern coastline.
The serial killer encountered most of his victims at gay bars—then charmed his way into their homes by offering them sex for money, authorities said. Once inside, Bowles would strangle his victims, take their credit cards and identification, and shove an object down their throats.

Note the "overkill" factor that is used in so many murders done by homosexuals.

While the article doesn't talk about Bowles' childhood, he was raised in a broken home and physically abused by at least one of his stepfathers. Later in life Bowles had a deep seated hatred of women.

Christian Filmmakers Win Case: State Can't Require Them to Make Gay Wedding Videos

Over two years ago, Alliance Defending Freedom filed a lawsuit on behalf of two Minnesota filmmakers, Carl and Angel Larsen.
As parents of eight children, they never anticipated that this would be something they would need to do.
But when Carl and Angel realized a state law was threatening their right to live and work according to their beliefs, they decided to take a stand—for themselves, for their eight kids and for all Americans.
Today, their stand was rewarded.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled in favor of the Larsens. It reinstated their case (which was dismissed by the lower court) and ruled that the State can't force the Larsens to express messages through their films that violate their religious convictions.

A couple of things:

Not being familiar with the case, I'm wondering if the Alliance Defending Freedom/ADF used the same defense in this case as they did in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case:

Artistic freedom, not religious freedom. As I'd pointed out in earlier posts on this subject, even a so-called "artist" that submerged a crucifix with Christ submerged in a container of urine was allowed to do so based on "artistic freedom".

Now the other issue: Supreme Court rulings:

The decision was handed down by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and doesn't reflect cases that the Supreme Court of the United States ruled on. In Masterpiece Cakeshop v CO Civil Rights Commission, even a couple of liberal Justices ruled in favor of baker Jack Phillips because the CCRC was being biased in the case. Yet no legal precedence was set in the case nor were anti discrimination laws protecting homosexuals and transsexuals overturned. Not long after that ruling, SCOTUS returned the case of Arlene's Flowers (Ingersoll v Arlene's Flowers) back to the WA State Supreme Court where they ruled against the owner of the floral shop and hence against religious freedom.

Remember that the 'Equality Act' recently passed the House, and even if it doesn't clear the Senate, SCOTUS will be looking at 3 cases sometime soon involving two homosexual men and one transsexual whatever, and will rule if they are protected against discrimination under the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Researchers analyzed DNA from hundreds of thousands of people and found that there are a handful of genes clearly connected with same-sex sexual behavior. The researchers say that, although variations in these genes cannot predict whether a person is gay, these variants may partly influence sexual behavior.
Andrea Ganna, lead author and an instructor at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, said the research reinforces the understanding that same-sex sexual behavior is simply “a natural part of our diversity as species.”

Brees was addressing an article published by Big Easy Magazine with the headline “Drew Brees Records Video for Anti-LGBTQ Religious Organization.”
The piece stated that while it is not surprising that Brees would support Bring Your Bible to School Day as a Christian, the liberal publication found it “odd” for him to “support of a religious group known to be one of the most well funded anti-LGBT organizations in the country.”

“Focus on the Family supports and promotes the practice of ‘conversion therapy,'” the article, written by Editor-in-Chief Jenn Bentley, claimed. “Focus on the Family has also regularly fought against anti-discrimination practices protecting the LGBTQ+ community.”

She noted that Brees had previously recorded an anti-bullying video that was featured on The Ellen Show, and because of his position, he was once named Ellen’s “favorite quarterback.” Ellen DeGeneres is well-known as being a lesbian.

Uh Russell and Drew, as followers of Christ it's not your job to "respect" sinful behavior or to support legislation that gives equal treatment for sinful behavior, but to show those proud and unrepentant sinners a better way, the Way of Jesus Christ.

New York City to repeal ban on gay 'conversion therapy' amid legal battle

The New York city council is planning to repeal a two-year-old ban on “gay conversion therapy” to avoid a costly uphill legal fight.
The New York Times reports that the city’s openly gay Council Speaker Corey Johnson introduced a bill on Thursday to repeal a measure passed in 2017 banning the sale of “services intended to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.”

With a conservative-leaning U.S. Supreme Court makeup, Johnson doesn’t seem to want the law to be tested in the legal system. He vowed that the council would act quickly to repeal the law.
“Obviously I didn’t want to repeal this,” Johnson was quoted as saying. “I don’t want to be someone who is giving in to these right-wing groups. But the Supreme Court has become conservative; the Second Circuit, which oversees New York, has become more conservative.”
The city's ban is being challenged by the conservative religious freedom legal group Alliance Defending Freedom, which has won nine Supreme Court cases in the last seven years.
ADF’s lawsuit was filed in January on behalf of Dr. David Schwartz, a licensed psychotherapist and an adherent to the Lubavitcher Orthodox Jewish Community in Brooklyn.

A couple of points:

1). If the people behind this evil ban want to believe that the Supreme Court is "conservative leaning", that's fine with me, but if you look at their recent rulings (rulings also meaning refusing to hear cases) on homosexuality and abortion, they're far from conservative.

In the Masterpiece Cakeshop v CO Civil Rights Commission case, SCOTUS ruled that the CCRC was being biased towards baker Jack Phillips, but it was by no means a victory for religious liberty, as the ruling didn't overturn any pro homosexual/anti discrimination laws, nor did it set any legal precedence like Roe v Wade, Lawrence v Texas or Obergefell v Hodges did.

In the case of Ingersoll v Arlene's Flowers: SCOTUS sent the case back to the Washington State Supreme Court where it ruled in favor of the homosexual couple.

The "conservative leaning" Supreme Court of the United States also in essence ruled in favor our the nation's largest abortion provider (Planned Parenthood) when they declined to hear the case where numerous States wanted to cut Medicare funding for Planned Parenthood.

2). Regarding these 9 SCOTUS cases that the Alliance Defending Freedom/ADF allegedly won in the last 7 years.

Without looking those cases up and studying the details, I can tell you that the ADF often times (as in the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop) doesn't argue for religious freedom, they argue for "artistic freedom", which even secular humanists creating "art" belittling Jesus Christ have.

If one of the 9 cases they're speaking about is the Hobby Lobby case, that wasn't a win for the unborn, as it doesn't keep women that gets benefits from Hobby Lobby from getting an abortion, it was an economic win for companies that choose not to provide their employees benefits for abortion.

We'll see what happens down the road with this, because as mentioned in earlier posts, SCOTUS will be hearing cases on homosexual and transsexual discrimination in the near future, and it could very well adversely effect therapy for those with unwanted homosexual desires.

In the past homosexual activity has been criminalized, but there is no objective means of determining an individual's sexual orientation unless he/she volunteers that information!

Throughout history homosexuals have been persecuted, so the question remains as to why these individuals would jeopardize their standing in the community, risking incarceration and even death if it was within their power to make a conscious decision that would change their sexual orientation to one that was socially acceptable?

Homosexuals are no more redisposed to be pedophiles than heterosexuals - it has been mine experience, however, that conservative Christians deliberately attempt to link the two to add "shock value" to their arguments!
