ECT Why are Christians afraid of Judgment Day?

I have come across Christians who say there is no day of judgment and reject the plain truth of scripture and worse, those who claim that the Commandants were done away with, and that even if not, Grace covers them anyway.

I seriously doubt that you know a single "Christian" who says "there is no day of judgment". Those who are in the Body of Christ, (having believed that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and raised from the dead), would also know that there is a "day of judgment" (2 Cor 5:10), and those who are truly Christians also know that when they appear on that "day", they will not be judged krínō (John 3:18), for they have believed the gospel.
The judgment seat bēma is the event when the Body of Christ is revealed and presented unto Christ, and also those who rejected Him will be revealed.

"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is."

"In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

"This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent"

The "good" (righteous) work is to believe God
The "bad" (evil) work is to not believe God.

"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous."

Many people claim to be Christians, but they are not. They still serve the Law for righteousness. They still trust in the works of the Law and demand that others do also. They say things like "God has not done away with the 10 commandments" or "grace is not sufficient". They reject God's word...

"But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be DONE AWAY:

How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart." 2 Cor 3:7-15

The Apostle Paul says.

1. The ministry of death and condemnation is written & engraved in stones. Those are the 10 commandments.
2. They had glory, but the glory of the Spirit surpasses the 10 commandments.
3. Moses had to put a veil over his face so the Israel would not see the glory of the 10 commandments fading away.
4. If Moses had not had the veil, Israel would have seen that the 10 commandments were to be abolished.

The Law (10 commandments) was abolished. Paul just said so. And he says it again.

"For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the Law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby" Eph 2:14-16

Paul says

1. Jesus broke down the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile.
2. The dividing wall (enmity) is the "Law of commandments"
3. Jesus abolished, in His flesh, the enmity (Law of commandments).
4. There is now no dividing wall between Jew & Gentile
5. Both Jew & Gentile are "one new man" in Christ, because He put to death the enmity (Law of commandments).

Those who have been crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20), buried with Him in baptism (into His body by the Holy Spirit) 1 Cor 12:13, and raised to new life (Rom 6:4), are "dead to the Law" (Rom 7:4), are no longer slaves of sin, but slaves of righteousness (Rom 6:18). They are "free from sin" having been circumcised from the flesh (Col 2:11), no longer in the flesh, but in the Spirit (Rom 8:9) and seated in Christ in heavenly places (Eph 2:6), "In Him, there is no sin" 1 John 3:5.

It is perfectly clear that you have never believed the gospel, are not in Christ, and should be very concerned about the day of judgment. You have no clue what Jesus accomplished on the cross or in His resurrection, and you are blatantly ignorant of what it means to be saved.

the Lord Jesus said the following to the jews who lived under the law but it also applies to those in the body of Christ:

'"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life" (Jn.5:24).
