While the British can have fond memories of their once great Empire, it did little to improve the average British citizen who was living in the horrendous living conditions created by the Industrial Revolution.
This gave rise to political and economic theories of Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx - the later resided in London from 1849, until his death in 1883.
That's a bunch of nonsense. Conservatives simply want to keep America- America.
Liberals want America to be the UK, plain and simple. It is rather undeniable at this point that liberals just don't like what America was and is intended to be.
Britain was great, Rome was great, Egypt was great, China was great - but that "greatness" came at a high cost and the benefits not shared by the average citizen!
The price of "greatness" usually involves making alot of enemies and the ongoing investment in a large and very expensive military.
The UK is nosy, and it's always been in their nature to be pompous, overly grand whistle blowers.

When was this "golden era" for conservatives when America was America - prior to European settlement, the 13 Colonies, Slavery, the Civil War, WW1, the Great Depression, WW2, the Vietnam War?

- 1941- Alcoa had a monopoly on aluminum in addition to owning a massive amount of America’s electricity production and other minerals
- prior to Germany declaring war on America, the 3rd Reich received 60% more aluminum products than what Alcan was producing for the American market
- Alcoa sold the Axis powers so much aluminum that there was a shortage in America

- Woolworth fired all of its Jewish employees in Germany

- Dow Chemical was one of the companies that provided large amounts of materials for the Nazis
- included not only raw materials but also American technological innovations with regards to oil refining

- the Nazis were taken by surprise with regard to how much material they were allowed to receive from American companies
- the oil received from Dow was major contributor to the 3rd Reich's success for achieving such a massive armament build-up in a short period
8. Chase Manhattan Bank
- Carlos Niedermann, Chase’s representative in Paris, had very good personal relations with the Nazis
- agreed to their requests that the bank seize the assets of at least one hundred Parisian Jews that were considered especially worth pursuing by the Reich
- Chase's colluding with the Reich was particularly heinous because it helped the Gestapo capture these people
-1998 - the company was part of a suit demanding reparations from Chase Manhattan, J. P. Morgan and Citibank for the millions of dollars of assets that had been stolen almost 6 decades earlier

- Warner Brothers ordered that any mention of the word “Jew” be taken out of their movies and invited Nazi dignitaries to visit their studio
- after the invasion of Poland in 1939, MGM donated prints of 11 of their films to the German Relief Effort
- these gestures came to an end only after the French and British markets threatened to boycott MGM if this collusion with the enemy continued
10. Coca-Cola
- Coca-Cola was a major presence in Nazi German
- the very American nature of the product (wealth, flashy dreams, etc.) appealed very much to the German public
- 1942 - the company’s presence in the nation was seriously threatened Coca-Cola’s hundreds of bottling plants in Germany were naturally cut off from main American support
- Max Keith, the representative of the company in Germany at the time, redubbed the product “Fanta” for Reich consumption
- the bottling factories and processing plant were then used to provide Germany’s citizens a key element to keep their energy up to support the war effort
- after the war, Keith, in an amazing display of company loyalty, turned over the wartime profits to the parent company when the Allied armies arrived

Prior to Pearl Harbor, followed by Hitler's decision to declare was on the US, prominent America corporations were more than willing to profit from supplying the 3rd Reich while Britain and its Empire stood alone.
America shoulders a major responsibility for rearming Germany prior to 1941 - a decision that not only put Britain and continental Europe at greater risk, but was also responsible for the subsequent deaths of many GIs.

The Western Front was overshadowed by the massive scale of the battles that were playing themselves out in the USSR.
In December 1941, when the events of Pearl Harbor and Hitler's ill-advised decision to declare war on the US were occurring, the Germany army was stopped, then pushed back from the gates of Moscow.
If Japan had attacked her traditional enemy Russia, instead of America, that would have forced Stalin to retain his armies in the east, instead of using them to reinforce Moscow in 1941/42 and Stalingrad in 1942/43.
By the time Hitler had declared war on the US, the Germans had already failed to achieve their quick victory over the Soviets, and were then being forced into a war of attrition that definitely favored the Russians and the Allies.
By D-day, the Germans were in full retreat along the Eastern Front and the Anglo-American landings on the Continent were as much to stop the Soviets from streamrolling through all of Europe to the Atlantic as it was to defeat the Germans.
