I've quoted the relevant part several times. You've done nothing.

The one that got killed was not the one that took away the sins.

Leviticus 16
King James Bible
The Law of Atonement
1And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died; 2And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. 3Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. 4He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on. 5And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. 6And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. 7And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 8And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. 9And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. 10But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
The Sin Offering for the Priest
(Leviticus 8:14-17)
11And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself: 12And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail: 13And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not: 14And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
The Sin Offering for the People
15Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: 16And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins:
and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel. 18And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. 19And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

(The first goat was killed, and reconciliation was made, then after that, the scapegoat.)
The Scapegoat
20And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat: 21And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: 22And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
23And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there: 24And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people. 25And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar. 26And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp. 27And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung. 28And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
The Day of Atonement
29And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: 30For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. 31It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. 32And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments: 33And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation. 34And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

One goat died and one goat was sent to the wilderness.
The goat that was sent into the wilderness is the one that TAKES AWAY THE SINS.

Lev 16:20-22 KJV And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat: (21) And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: (22) And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

Jesus died and lives.
Who said otherwise?

Are you trying to say one goat during the ceremony didn't have to die?
No.

There was NO SENDING a goat out in the wilderness UNLESS the other goat was killed.
Who said otherwise?

No, I did NOT. You're LYING AGAIN.

Yes, I do... the one that died was not the one that TAKES AWAY SINS.

You did say no animal died.

You are going on about the scapegoat after I brought up Jesus being the Lamb of God and people knowing that the lamb's blood had to be shed for the forgiveness of sins.

The Jews knew what the lamb and atone for sin is about.

You obviously have no idea.

To atone is to do something "right" to make up for doing something wrong.

An example of atonement is the Catholic practice of confessing one's sins to a priest, being given a penance of some type, and then being forgiven and thus back in God's good graces.

The Catholics have false doctrines about this, however. A penance to atone for one's sins, according to the Catholic church, would be to say the Hail Mary prayer eight times and the Our Father ten times, or perhaps do volunteer time for people in need, etc.

An animal being sacrificed was to atone.

Jesus atoned for our sins by dying on the cross.

Christian perspectives

Jesus Christ is seen to have fulfilled all of the biblical "types"—the High Priest who officiates at the ceremony, the Lord's goat that deals with the pollution of sin and the scapegoat that removes the "burden of sin". Christians believe that sinners who own their guilt and confess their sins, exercising faith and trust in the person and sacrifice of Jesus, are forgiven of their sins.
Since the second goat was sent away to perish,[11] the word "scapegoat" has developed to indicate a person who is blamed and punished for the sins of others.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scapegoat

A sin offering to atone for sins he may have committed unintentionally throughout the year. Subsequently he took two goats and presented them at the door of the tabernacle. Two goats were chosen by lot: one to be "for YHWH", which was offered as a blood sacrifice, and the other to be the scapegoat to be sent away into the wilderness. The blood of the slain goat was taken into the Holy of Holies behind the sacred veil and sprinkled on the mercy seat, the lid of the ark of the covenant. Later in the ceremonies of the day, the High Priest confessed the intentional sins of the Israelites to God placing them figuratively on the head of the other goat, the Azazel scapegoat, who would symbolically "take them away".

No.

Do you really want me to go through all these posts and show how many times you said the goat didn't die?

The one goat was a sin offering to atone for the people's sin.

The goat that was the scapegoat is symbolic of the sins leaving.

The live goat taking away the sins? See, proof that you keep on with the LIVE GOAT and NOT the goat that was KILLED.

No atonement for sins and no forgiveness if not for the goat that was killed.

The scapegoat "makes an atonement with Him" and does not die. Maybe you need to start using the Bible to define Bible words.

"to make an atonement with him". God was letting the goat go. That is the atonement, the kind act to the goat, to let him live.

Why are you leaving out all the scriptures that say the KILLED GOAT WAS FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS?

To the Reader:

All this talk about the goat that lived and was sent to the wilderness is because RD thought he could obfuscate from the fact that Jesus taught he would die when he walked the earth.

John the baptizer is the voice that prepared the way for Jesus and said Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Jesus had to die.

All the Jews and other people also knew that the lamb who atoned for sins is the lamb whose blood was shed.

Do you remember when you were complaining about "lamb vs goat"? Now you seem to be OK with the "goat of God".

Now you're flip flopping on your "definition" of atonement.

According to YOU: "To atone is to do something "right" to make up for doing something wrong."

What did the live goat "do 'right' to make up for doing something wrong"?

Nothing you said is correct.

You don't like the idea that the goat was symbolic of sending sin away, nor do I think you understand it.

To the Reader: GT has a story that does not agree with scripture and therefore must lie about what others say.

That is not truthful, RD.

Did any animal have to die for sin?

Did Jesus have to die?

Is Jesus the Lamb of God?

Was Jesus called the Lamb of God when he walked the earth?

You can't get around it, no matter how many times or how hard you try to slander me.

The goat that got to live and be the symbol of sin leaving, is the scapegoat.

  • I have not slandered you.
  • You do not know what slander is.
No matter how much you try to twist it, the bottom line is that the twelve apostles did NOT go around preaching the DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION of Christ as part of their gospel of the kingdom.

They did NOT understand that Christ had to die when they were going around ISRAEL preaching the gospel of the kingdom.

Luk 18:31-34 KJV Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. (32) For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: (33) And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. (34) And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
  • They understood NONE OF THESE THINGS.
  • This saying was HID FROM THEM.
  • NEITHER KNEW THEY THE THING WHICH WERE SPOKEN.
How much more CLEARLY could God have made it?
