What methods/tools/weapons do you use for home defense?

Repeat of a fun thread from ten years ago. A quick read through and I didn't see anybody mention my first responses:

Locks on my door
Latches on my windows
Shades on my windows
No bushes or shrubs close to the structure

Motion detector lighting
Professional security service, such as ADT

I use "Ortho Home Defense".
Works better on crickets than a fly swatter...(or my cat).

My 7lb chorkie barks at all the people she sees walking by out our living room window. I’m sure that’s why none of them ever attack us and instead, continue walking away in fear. At least that’s how she sees it.
