WHAT IS THE MYSTERY?

How would you reach that conclusion from that verse?
My comment was not based on a single verse of scripture, but on the scripture as a whole.
Ephessians 2:11-22

11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
This entire passage is talking about the body of Christ. It is NOT an exhaustive comment on ALL that God is doing.

Ephesians 3:3-6

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Verse 6 tells us
Yes
That Gentiles would be saved was not a mystery, that was revealed in the law and prophets. The mystery was the Gentiles would be fellow heirs in the body of Christ. The body of Christ was the mystery....the one new man made of the two (Jew and Gentile).
(Ephesians 2:14 KJV) For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us];
(Ephesians 2:15 KJV) Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;

The Body of Christ is Israel, Saved Spiritual Israel. That was a mystery as well.

The mystery of Jesus Christ is that a mystery for them that was waiting for the Messiah. The Messiah has come and they have killed Him. Now read Acts 1 and 2.

even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

I wonder if there is one truth so great; that possibly even God could do nothing greater.

Could God love each and everyone of us as he loves himself?

Could God love us more than he loves himself?

When our Lord died for us, it must mean that he loves us as much as he loves himself. Did the greatest commandments have a greatest meaning for God; before he gave them to us?

Could God have a greater good truth to live by, other than the greatest commandments?

I don't want to make any claims for these words; other than; they are Just words to challenge the mind to think.

I appreciate your thinking, however, the death of Christ was foretold in scripture, and so therefore, not a mystery hidden:

(Isaiah 53:5, 7-8, 10 KJV) 5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. ... 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. ... 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Most all of Churchianity tries to diminish the ministry given to Paul.

They minimize just about everything about his calling:
  • They try to force the mystery revealed only to Paul back into the OT scripture.
  • They try to force all gospels to be only one gospel.
  • They try to force everything that Paul said to be identical to what the twelve preached.
  • They try to make the lawfully required Jewish feast of Pentecost to be the "beginning" of the body of Christ.
  • etc. etc. etc.

I understand you you very clear my friend. But think good, a man was walking on earth, and have done greatest things then all the others prophets and kings. But they killed Him!! And this killing is the and just after Jesus dead on the cross, many have see the change of the atmosphere.
It is very deep and my English is very bad!! Sorry!

Yes. Consistently applying Pauline doctrine undercuts ALL the works and EVERY lying promise stolen from Israel, which undercuts the fear-driven money that churches and ministries have always made.

It's the mortal enemy of all of Christendom's bank accounts, salaries, etc, just on tithing alone. Add negation of water baptism and it's a disaster for Christendom. That's why Paul is either forced to harmonize 100% with the 12, or he's ignored, or he's vilified as a woman hater, closeted homo, epileptic, lunatic, etc.

I doubt many out there think of it in those terms but some do, because it's a fact. They know the threat to their careers and power bases that "grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, without works, without distinction" truly represents.

IOW, preaching Christ according to the mystery is bad for business.

Take TOL for instance...

. . . . Christ revealed the mystery to Paul, which is the body of Christ . . .

. . . . Peter and the disciples could not have known this mystery and therefore could not have preached the body of Christ . . .

Pure heresy, and general bull dung.

Well, I believe what has been handed down for 2,000 years.
You believe in Neo-manmade doctrines.

So, you are actually correct. You are just aiming at the wrong person.

Just because something is "handed down for 2000 years" doesn't necessarily make it correct.

Which is why your argument, which is an appeal to tradition which is a fallacy, is an invalid argument.

LOL. That's pretty funny.

Well, the Bible has been handed down for 2,000 years thanks to the monks of the Catholic Church, and it is correct. My position has been proven Biblically. Now we are just in a schoolyard shoving match which I am now walking away from. Adios.

True. But that fact alone doesn't make it correct.

It just means that the Bible has been handed down for 2000 years.

There's more to the Bible being correct than that fact alone.

thanks to the monks of the Catholic Church, and it is correct.

But not because it was handed down.

My position has been proven Biblically.

Again, because you say so?

I could make the same claim, but neither of us is correct because we claim to be correct.

One of us is correct, or both of us are wrong.

Do you have the wherewithal to accept that possibility?

In other words, what if you're wrong?

That's pure myth

Yes, that's always your fallback retort when you are in over your head.

Saying that Paul and Peter had different Gospels and one was for the gentiles and all that nonsense is pure neo-heresy garbage. Like all your fake doctrines, the early Church had none of it.

There is ONE God!
One Savior Jesus Christ.
ONE Good News!
One Faith, One Baptism.

And to quote Paul, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

There is one People of God, the Church, the Body of Christ.

ONE!

All this dividing stuff up is scriptural idiocy.
