Vaccination progress

Was this airplane designed, produced and rushed into service without the normal testing?

Was this airplane proving to be so unsafe that entire countries were banning its use?
Ah. I asked first.

Edit: Seriously- you've changed the goal posts. I asked about risks, and you responded about the approval process.

More than a little scary that you don't understand that they are inextricably linked
The vaccines were approved on an emergency basis because we are living through an emergency. They have proven themselves safe and effective, both in the initial testing and in actual use. What's difficult to understand here?

They have proven themselves safe
Well, no
Not for breast feeding infants
Not for people who die from clotting issues.
and effective
Again, no
Not in any normal sense of vaccine effectiveness.
But perhaps you're using an emergency sense of the word "effectiveness", which really means "not very effective and will still require the use of masks and social distancing and modified lockdown procedures"

How safe anything is is a matter of statistics- not individual cases. Certainly not individual cases where the connection hasn't been proven.

Effective means very effective, and the vaccine is already freeing us from social distancing and masks here in Israel, while infection rates have plummeted and hospital Covid wards are closing.

How do you define the effectiveness of a vaccine?

Edit: did you miss this link?

Nope.
Not even close.

Yes, I saw that

Do you have any reason to believe that they don't, long term?

🤣
There is exactly as much evidence that being exposed to a vaccinated person is dangerous as there is that being exposed to someone with green eyes is dangerous. Maybe people with green eyes shouldn't be allowed to teach in schools?

1. People with green eyes have been around for many many years. Mass inoculation with hurriedly produced and implemented vaccinations is a new phenomena about which we have no data. We are all Guinea pigs in this experiment.

2. You never met my first wife.

Further, I don't know the reasoning behind the policy in this particular school, but as I was flinging lead at noisy geese just now it occurred to me that some people might fear that a vaccine developed against a particular strain of covid might leave them more vulnerable to variants.

If we've learned anything from our experience over the last year it's that the "experts" don't know much. They're groping in the dark, same as the rest of us.

Curiosity: From what I understand, the vaccine does not stop the virus "at all" just makes the symptoms milder, thus it doesn't 'seem' to me we can call this an immunization. I'm also hearing that if you get the shot now, if they do come up with an actual immunization, you'll not be able to get it, likely. Then I was thinking if I have the shot, only get a mild cold for symptoms, will I actually give it to more people, because I think I'm 'immunized?' This particular has me puzzled because I'm actually hearing from doctors, first responders, and nurses that are holding off from getting the shot at this particular time. I've a pretty good mind, but am about brow-beat whenever I tell anybody "I'm considering not getting the shot." Some of my friends are talking about not letting me in their homes if I don't, which makes it a bit more problematic for decision making. Seems like a very important decision and not to be entered lightly.
