got that right
It could have been 3 million illegals.
In the People's Republic of Trump anyone who votes against him must be an "illegal" - based on the 2018 Interim Election that would place the majority of the American electorate under suspicion!got that right
The system in 2016 effectively ignored the ballots of 3 million voters all because the Electoral College wasn't sufficiently calibrated to reflect their intensions!
Show me somebody who snivels about the popular vote and I'll show you an loser. We won the Senate and we won the White House. Boo hoo for you. Crying about the popular vote is like crying about a football team who lost the game even though they ran more yards and the winner got more touchdowns. When you play football nobody gives a damn how many yards you run, they only care how many touchdowns you get. And when you run for an election, nobody gives a frig about the popular vote and people only care about who wins by the rules. You lost, and rightfully so
Oh and by the way, your post has absolutely nothing to do with the thread topic. Sorry if you hate winners. I guess that's how it is when you are a loser
The Electoral College consists of 538 electors, with an absolute majority of 270 electoral votes irequired to win a presidential election.
Article II, Section 1, Clause 2, the legislature of each state determines the manner by which its electors are chosen. Each state's number of electors is equal to the combined total of the state's membership in the Senate and House of Representatives; currently there are 100 senators and 435 representatives.
The 23 Amendment provides that the District of Columbia (D.C.) is entitled to a number of electors no greater than that of the least populous state (i.e. 3)
- given that each state receives 2 Senate and 1 House seat irrespective of their population, the rural, less populated states that tend to vote Republican automatically received a numerical advantage over their larger, more urban counterparts that tend to vote Democrat!
- studies have shown that its allocation of Electoral College votes gives citizens in less populated rural states as much as four times the voting power as those in more populous urban states
- 48 states have adopted a "winner take all" system that can distort the Electoral College vote away from the popular vote (ie. Trump won 52% of the Texas vote in 2016 and received all 38 of Electoral College votes, Clinton won 61% of the California vote and got all 55 votes)
- the congressional House districts and the electoral college seats allocated during the 2020 general elections will still be based on the 2010 census - that results in both House districts and EC votes being apportioned based on a census data that is 10 to 20 years out of date and that doesn't reflect the current popular vote
- polling since 1967 indicates that a majority of Americans have consistently favoured the president and vice president be elected by the nationwide popular vote, instead of by the Electoral College
