Yeah, right. Prior to being nominated as HHS secretary, he represented Georgia's 6th Congressional district, one of the reddest in the country. Newt Gingrich's old district. Remember this? Also, while there, he was under investigation for ethics violations related to his official duties as a member of Congress.

Trump does not need the Democrats' help to fill cabinet positions, and given some of the people he has nominated, you can see why the Democrats slowed some of them down as much as they could.

That's why we have federal disaster agencies. Natural disasters tend to destroy infrastructure. It's basically the entire reason they exist, so that there's a mobile capacity ready to rush in and fill the gap.
Unless the particular part of America being impacted is heavily Spanish-speaking and, perhaps more importantly, without a vote in Congress.

For one thing, most hospitals have the capacity to store a few days worth of diesel fuel, which in general is sufficient for help to arrive. So you aren't talked about just ordering some extra fuel. You're talking about building up infrastructure with the assumption that no help would be coming to them. That's not a project of a couple of weeks, even if it were a reasonable suggestion, which it's not.
They didn't choose self-government, or any other form of government. Puerto Rico is a colony. The current arrangement is by act of Congress. And I only mention the voting because that may explain why Trump, who is by law responsible for their wellbeing, doesn't care what happens to them like he did in Texas and Florida.
Yeah right, maybe Trump WANTS people to suffer because they have no vote :kookoo:
