As a truck driver, this is SCARY!

There are licensed drivers who are not good at driving. I hate to think how bad the roads are going to be with unlicensed drivers...

How to clear the snow and ice off the roof of your box

Have you looked at the entire collection that the owner of that site has of truck bodies and trailers being destroyed? The bridge's nickname is "the can opener". The railroad lifted their bridge 8" but it doesn't seem to have affected the rate of incidents.

I got a kick out of one of those several hundred thousand dollar class C motor homes scraping all three ACs off it's roof.

Stopping the truck was her first mistake.

Rolling down her window was her second mistake.

Her third was to remain in that location when people started climbing on her truck.

She seems like just another steering wheel holder.

PS: Perhaps working for a company that would send her to do deliveries in the middle of a riot would be another mistake, but... that's more on them than on her...

This is why it's a mistake for carriers to not allow drivers to carry personal defense weapons.

If she had had one, here's what might have happened:

She would have rolled up on that intersection, seen the protesters rioters, slowed her vehicle to avoid running over any of them, but still moving forward to encourage them to move, and when people started to climb on top of her truck, she would have pulled the gun out and pointed it at them. If they refused to get off, at that point, she could open her window enough to stick JUST the barrel out, point at the ground next to her, and fire off a shot into the ground (once the idiots next to her cleared away), which would cause most people to scatter. At that point, it's a matter of continuing moving forward quickly enough to prevent people from attempting to unhook her airlines.

After she's far enough away, she calls 911 and tells the nice lady on the other end that there are hoodlums disrupting the peace and attempting to steal cargo and climbing on top of vehicles to threaten the drivers of vehicles passing by, and that, in order to defend herself, she had to fire off a single warning shot in self defense into the ground next to her vehicle to get most of them to disperse from around her vehicle. (In a normal society, this would be completely acceptable, and the operator might as a few questions about the incident, and perhaps get her contact information, but wouldn't press the matter.)

After that, she should have called her company and told them what happened.

It occurred to me while I was watching this video that there's not a single woman working this job. Perhaps this is one of the reasons women don't earn the same money as men do.

Ooh, Ron Pratt!

Also, there are women in trucking. I see them every once in a while...

I think I hear more about the "women in trucking" movement more than I see women in trucks though...

We had a long time family friend that I got reunited with 3 years ago - turned out she'd been driving tanker - short run, local gig. Loved it. Not 6 months later she died in a wreck.
