Well maybe my input...

Outta all the races to watch out for the blacks were the least prejudice.

I don't know why it was like that but it was and SC LA was a dangerous dangerous place back then.

My guess is that the blacks had been thru discrimination for some time in America and it affected their ability to tolerate ...
More than the other gangsters of different races anyway.

Like how Jews tolerate other religions by their experiences maybe?
