The EU just approved worms as food for human beings. That is a plain admission that food is becoming so scarce in Europe that they are taking emergency measures to attempt to provide sources of protein. Yeah, governments are responding in just the right ways to the coronavirus. They are OKing worms for food because the traditional sources of protein in the European diet are so readily available. Nope. Food shortage seems more likely. Europe is constantly starving. U.S. had to provide food to all of low countries for a year and then had to feed all of Russia for a year as well as provide grain for planting. We also had to provide France grapes for wine.

Well, I'm not sure if that is a universal description of a European. I watched an interview of Katie Hopkins this afternoon and there is nothing sheep like or even whipped-dog like about her. Her bark has some bite in it. She is one independent and outspoken woman. England needs another 10,000 women like her.

I wouldn't include the Poles or the Hungarians in that description either. They have seen all the socialism they will tolerate in their history. And there were pretty good size protests in Amsterdam and Vienna recently. People there are rising up and saying Don't tread on me. They want liberty not suppression.

Store shelves are empty part of the time and the variety of foods is less than it used to be. Prices are also rising quickly. An example of this is V8 Juice. The bottles it used to come in were 64oz. The new bottles are 46oz. That's a better than 28% decrease in volume. And the price went up a little at the same time. So even if the price had stayed the same the inflation was 28+% on V8.

The other thing that is happening is the decrease in quality of produce. My wife and I eat a lot of yams. We went to the store about a month or so ago and bought 8 or 10 yams. We each ate one that night and two days later little flies were buzzing all over. We finally traced it to the yams we had just purchased. They had already spoiled, just turned to mush. I went to the store a few days later and bought 4 yams. Two days later they had also spoiled. So, the next time I went produce shopping I inspected the yams very closely. What I found was that 90% of the yams had little holes bored in them. I picked out the yams that didn't have the little holes bored into them and the yams lasted a week. Enough time for us to eat all of them. Not a one spoiled. I'd never seen a yam with holes bored in them before in my life. This means the stores are buying and selling the dregs of the produce that would have been tossed out by the wholesalers before the coronavirus stupidity.

That's how hard it is for the stores to now get good produce.

Edit: This was true for every grocery store in the town in which we live.

Well as someone who lives in Europe, considering we have a pandemic for 12 months and the puigs ear we call Brexit. I havent noticed a significant long term noticable difference in food stocks.

There are issue around food poverty but that's about the economy and government cuts to the benefit system.

The food shortages are mainly caused by governmental responses to the coronavirus. Lockdowns, interruptions in transportation, unavailability of normal labor forces due to coronavirus policies, etc... have a big influence on food availability. Our own governments are creating all these conditions to "save" us from a scamdemic. There is no need for vaccines as there are multiple treatments that make any coronavirus infection emminently treatable. Yet all this totalitarianism is being forced upon us just so big pharma can make billions of dollars, and we can be made to live in fear. And this is going to get worse. All these "new" variants of the coronavirus that your current "vaccines" cannot cover will be the excuses for governments to create even greater hardships on the population. Lockdowns will extend and so will transportation issues and at the same time both the UK and the US are moving toward complete financial meltdowns.

Plus add in the increased unemployment. People who once could feed themselves due to being employed are now reliant on food banks. Another hardship forced upon the population. And the working poor are unable to feed themselves because of all the inflation in food prices.

Ah, but who cares about those people who can no longer afford to feed themselves? Right? There is still some food left on the shelves so there are no hunger problems. Right?

I know how much inflation in food prices hit the poor. Just a couple of years ago I used to have a few hundred dollars left over after I bought our groceries. I have nothing left after buying groceries now. That's how much inflation has hit us. And it's that same way for hundreds of millions of people around the world. Socialists are always telling us how much they care about we poor people, but the effect of their policies are always pushing the poor closer to both starvation and homelessness.
