SUMMARY:

*Targeting Cancer: RSR hosts Fred Williams & Doug McBurney sit down with Boston College professor of biology Thomas Seyfried, MD, Ph.D., to hear about his decade long effort to change the research & treatment paradigms around cancer, (and quite possibly finding a cure).

*The Breath of Life - Fallen: Dr. Seyfried contends that a corruption of the respiratory chain, (which we recently discussed on a couple of RSR broadcasts) via a mitochondrial pathway drives the growth of cancer. While the secular scientific community attributes respiratory fermentation to processes left over from billions of years ago, Fred interjects the creationist view of break-down, and “devolution.”

*The Seyfried Line: Hear how Dr. Seyfried’s metabolic hypothesis has been applied via practiced cancer treatments to disrupt the fermentation pathway powering cancer’s growth through dietary “therapeutic ketosis”, (substituting ketones for glucose), effectively stopping the growth of cancer, and making it more vulnerable to the effects of EXISTING drugs!!

*Paradigm Tectonics: William James famously said, ““First, you know, a new theory is attacked as absurd; then it is admitted to be true, but obvious and insignificant; finally it is seen to be so important that its adversaries claim that they themselves discovered it.”

I've been listening to RSR for a long time, but somehow this episode seemed off. I didn't hear a tie-in to Creationism or a Biblical worldview. Dr. Seyfried said a couple of things that made it sound like he was an old-earther (paleolithic man?).
