ECT The Myth of 'Original Sin'

The proponents of 'Original Sin' assert that all men come out of the womb "made opposite to all good and wholly inclined to all evil":

"From this original corruption, whereby we are utterly indisposed, disabled, and made opposite to all good, and wholly inclined to all evil, do proceed all actual transgressions" [emphasis added] (The Westminster Confession of Faith; VI/4).

If the teaching of 'Original Sin' is correct then we must believe that the LORD punishes men when they do the very things which He designed them to do:

"...the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds...unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil" (Ro.2:5-6,8-9).

Sir Robert Anderson writes, "This theology obviously impugns the righteousness of God in punishing men for their sins. In fact, it represents Him as a tyrant who punishes the lame for limping and the blind for losing their way" (Anderson, Misundersood Texts of the New Testament [Grand Rapids: Kregel, 1991], 75).

The Augustine heresy of Original Sin (adopted by Calvinists as Total Depravity) is a nasty peice of eisogesis developed by Augustine in order to fit the beliefs he aquired from his time in Manicheanism.

It has no place in true Christianity.

Our bodies are defective from the moment of conception...due to the consequences of Adams sin. So we are born sinful... no choice is needed.

That we are born under the influence of sin and its consequences by our own free will and without the blasphemy GOD creates us that way in Adam, is a small step of faith to see that we chose sin by our free will in sheol pre-earth and were self separated into elect and reprobate by our choices and then

the Son of Man sowed the elect people of the kingdom who had chose to be sinful into the world and the devil sowed the reprobate people of the evil one into the world so SOWN cannot refer to creation since the devil does it too!

Wheat are NOT reborn tares !!!

Matt 13:36-43
good seed are sown by the Son of man
tares are of the wicked one 39 sown by the devil and, as per
Matthew 15:13 …Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up!

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Peace, Ted

Let us look at the following teaching of those who support the idea of "Original Sin":

"They (Adam & Eve) being the root of mankind, the guilt of this sin was imputed, and the same death in sin and corrupted nature conveyed to all their posterity, descending from them by original generation" [emphasis added] (The Westminster Confession of Faith; VI/3).

According to this the "guilt" of the sins of Adam and Eve was imputed to all of their posterity, and their posterity includes their sons Cain and Abel. So the Calvinists teach that the sons are guilty of their fathers sins despite what is said here:

"The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son" (Ezek.18:20).

What is said here declares in no uncertain terms that children do not bear the responsibility for the sins of their parents. On the other hand, it is true that we suffer the consequences for their sins (see Gen.3:17-19).

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Babies receive education since in the womb. Modern science shows that parents can actually start their influence to their child when he's in the womb.

The fallen spirits on the spiritual realm side will start the same 'education'.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

Let us look at the verse which follows:

"...even as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death; and thus death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: for until law sin was in the world; but sin is not put to account when there is no law" (Ro.5:12-13).

These verses are speaking of "law" in a "universal" sense because the "deaths" being considered are also "universal" in nature: "death passed to all men." The only universal law that has been in effect since Adam is the law which is written in the heart of all men, the same law of which the "conscience" bears witness:

"For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness" (Ro.2:14-15).

When Adam ate of the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" he had the knowledge of the law written in his heart and his "conscience" bore witness to that law. His very nature had changed. The Lord said: "Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil " (Gen.3:22). Man now had a "conscience" of the law written in his heart.

All of Adam's descendants would thereafter be born in Adam's likeness and image, also having a "conscience", or an inborn knowledge of God's law:

"And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth" (Gen.5:3).

So Adam was responsible for death coming unto all men because he was responsible for bringing "law" unto all men. When all men after Adam sinned against the law written in their hearts they died spiritually--"and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

So the baby without sin is born into this world with a death sentence? Is incorruptible, though of corruptible flesh that can't inherit the kingdom of heaven?

Do you want to know how to make a child grow up bad? Just do nothing.

Let us look at what the Lord Jesus said about little children:

"Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these'" (Mt.19:13-14).

Are we to believe that the Lord believed that infants are born dead in sin but yet He would say that "the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these"? Of course not!

At another place we see the Lord Jesus speaking about children and here the same truth can be seen:

"At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven" (Mt.18:1-4).

If little children possess the stain of "Original Sin" then it would make no sense for the Lord to say, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Those are very strong points, and there is, of course, a point of accountability, "age of accountability". Still, the child is under a death sentence. If you've ever seen how mean and selfish children can be, especially those not raised right, some like little vipers, there goes the argument being a child is a sanctified state of holiness. No, that child is just not to where fault is assessed, but the behavior of a child can be very much of the devil. Christ's point more goes to submission, trust of God, being teachable, having less guile, but not examples of that which is sinless. The same goes for sheep, naive, helpless, dead to self and following the shepherd.

Yes, all are under a physical death sentence. Provided that they are not caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

However, this has nothing at all to do with "Original Sin."
