It's the assumption that something is "God's word" that needs research. It's fine to use religious writings as one's guide or help....but when the written words are worshipped as God...idolatry is the subtle sin shrouded by good intentions.

Far from it,.....what it is is a collection of books by various authors within differing social, religious-economical environments and contexts....so these need to be understood by the individual authors perspective and agendas,...not just what is being superimposed by readers centuries later who fit such narratives in their own interpretive framework and preferred translation.

Books in the bible, the UB or any other religious writing (ancient & modern) may be more or less inspired...but never can they be wholly inerrant, infallible or perfect.

I recommend Dr. Steven DiMattei's objective, scholarly work on the biblical texts themselves as a good primer on the subject.....here.
