I think it is wonderful that you believe as you do. History tells us that all Jewish writings were lost/destroyed when the Jews went into captivity in Babylon. After release Ezra and a group of scribes "recaptured" what they could from fragments and memories. Do you think they got it down perfectly?

It doesn't take rocket surgery to recapture the facts that God expected His people to keep the law of Moses and that the law of Moses required blood sacrifices.

God is the creator of ALL! He calls the shots! If He said the shedding of
blood was necessary in the Old Testament, and necessary for Christ to
shed His blood on the cross then, who are we to say, that's disgusting or
unnecessary?

Perhaps you are correct. But was it the word of God or simply the pre captivity practices of their priesthood that was recaptured. There was a thousand years between the actual exodus and the release from Babylonian captivity. Who wrote Leviticus and the rest of the Torah? It is a book of the Jews and Jewish experts will tell you Moses did not author it.

Yeah... I wonder why that requirement is there, too. It think it must be the requirement set by sin when we became slaves to it by committing it, not by God.

It's probably best if we allow you to come to any final conclusions about that subject! We'll just trust your 'scholarly' approach here!

So you don't think the other prophets receiving messages directly from God in the OT would have told them to stop the blood sacrifices if it wasn't in accordance with the law?

The 'ultimate' shedding of blood took place on the cross of Calvary! Christ
shed His blood for our sins! However, only those who place their faith in Him
as their Savior, will benefit from His sacrifice, and resurrection!
