The history of FDA fraud down through the decades, or how the FDA acted as a protector of industry rather than individuals

The FDA is supposed to the organization that makes sure GM food is safe. Here is what they actually do.

the FDA never sees the methodological details, but rather only limited data and the conclusions the company has drawn from its own research….the FDA does not require the submission of data. And, in fact, companies have failed to comply with FDA requests for data beyond that which they submitted initially. Without test protocols or other important data, the FDA is unable to identify unintentional mistakes, errors in data interpretation, or intentional deception…

They rely on corporations for all their data. In other words they rely 100% on what biotechnology companies tell them. And this is a watchdog organization to keep our food supplies safe for human consumption? A regulatory organization?

Is this a process you trust to keep dangerous foods out of your diet?

The author of the following quote is David Schubert, professor and head of Cellular and Neurobiology Laboratory at the Salk Institute.

One thing that surprised us is that US regulators rely almost exclusively on information provided by the biotech crop developer, and those data are not published in journals or subjected to peer review… The picture that emerges from our study of US regulation of GM foods is a rubber-stamp ‘approval process’ designed to increase public confidence in, but not ensure the safety of, genetically engineered foods.

Here are 5 ways the FDA has cheated the US consumer on genetically engineered crops. The #3 way on the list of ways the FDA is fraudulent is the revolving door. At one point 34 of 37 FDA employees left the FDA to go to work for companies that produce GM foods. And the record of going from these bioengineering companies directly to the FDA is just about as bad. The incestuous relationship between the FDA and these companies is long and sordid.
