You cannot seperate His shed Blood and His personhood. That would be absurd. They are one and the same. Jesus is what saves-Jesus giving His life is what brings eternal life. Now accept Him for your salvation. Water is just that water. Accept the One who created the water.
What made the marriage legal???
Paul uses baptism to show we are dead to sin & alive to God.
Kevin-Read the verses carefully. We are buried WITH Christ in baptism. Thus symbolizing our union WITH Christ. It is Jesus Christ that causes us to become alive. Not the water.
Thus symbolizing our union WITH Christ
Apollos said:Speaking of ONE simple question, I guess I will ask mine AGAIN...
Please tell us – exactly what does “embracing the person of Jesus” means AND what does this involve.
Be quite specific and give scripture to support it! These are YOUR words. WHY won't you tell us??
Is this something that you teach in that "believer's course" of your??
What is it going to take to get an answer ????????????? [/B]
Kevin said:Indeed... what makes a marriage legal? Things like:
* Obtaining a license from a courthouse
* Ceremony performed in front of a judge or qualified minister and at least 2 witnesses
Multiple things are required to happen before the marriage is legal. Until all of those requirements are met, they are not considered married, either in the eys of the state, nor in the eyes of God.

Where is the exact point where a person is married??
Is it when they sign the marriage certificate ???
How about the wedding, If they have not a wedding comparing your belief with baptism and this tzhey are not married.
If they don`t have a wedding ring they are not completely married according to your belief.
If they don`t have a pastor or minister they are still single and if they live together they commiting fornication.
Can you really tell somebody that just wanted to recieve Jesus as thier Lord and savior on the spot that wait untill our next baptism in a couple or weeks or more so you can get saved but even if you give your heart to the Lord and believe with all your heart 101% and you fall in Love with Jesus and you ask for the blood Of Jesus to wash away all your sins and repent and confess;
you will tell that person you are still on the way to hell because you haven`t been deep in some water baptism yet even though you believe and have faith that you are forgiven of all your sins you will tell them you have no right to the tree of life and you can`t even enter the gates of heaven.
Can you tell somebody this that just recieve Jesus as thier Lord and savoir???????
Can you tell them if they die before they come to the next water baptism they are disobedience and they are still in sin because they didn`t do what the law says or the commandment says in Mark 16:16, so what ever they do don`t die before you been water baptize or you will be satans brother forever even though you gave your heart to Jesus and you recieve God grace??????
Just like to know how you wittness to the lost.
This is also for all thos people who think baptism saves.
What would you say?????????
God Bless peace
You might like to read Romans 6 to see what Paul is writing about--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Ian]: Paul uses baptism to show we are dead to sin & alive to God.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Kevin] I'm sorry, but that just isn't what the Bible teaches. Romans 6 tells us that baptism is what makes us dead to sin and alive in Christ. It's not to "show" anyone anything.
It clearly says that the condition for being dead to sin and alive in Christ is IF we have died with Him. IF. It is through baptism and baptism only that we die with Him.
To those who think water baptism saves...
I here all the time that it is a commandment to be baptized.
Is doing a commandment some kind of good works?
Is commandment the same as laws?????????????
Is doing the obedience of a commandment a good to earn the right to the tree of life or eternal life ???????
Thank you if you are a baptism worker and you answer this question for me.
Is commandment the same as laws?????????????
No. The law that the Jews were free from was the Mosaic Law. There was no salvation in that Law. Jesus fulfilled that Law, freeing them from it.
Jesus set up a new coventant, which inlucded commandments that He expects to be followed.
John 15:10
10) If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
IF you keep Jesus's commandments, you will abide in His love. If you don't keep His commandments, you WON'T abide in His love. Simple as that.
John 14:15
15) If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Those who keep His commandments love Him. If somebody doesn't keep His commandments, they don't love Him.
John 14:23-24
23) Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24) He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me."
Yet another proof that those who do NOT keep His commandments do not love Him. Those who DO keep His commandments will have a home with Jesus and the Father (verse 23).
1 John 3:24
24) Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
He who keeps His commandments abides IN JESUS, and Jesus IN US. If one does not keep His commandments, they don't abide in Jesus, and Jesus doesn't abide in them. They're doomed without Jesus.
1 John 2:3-4
3) Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4) He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
He who does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is NOT in them (verse 4). How much plainer could it be?
In light of all these scriptures I have presented, it would be nothing less than foolish to say that obeying Jesus's commandments isn't necessary for salvation.
THe question before us as chapter 6 opens is "if justification is by faith alone
