It would certainly be an entertaining election :) I can't wait for Trump to hit Bill Clinton with a few good zingers. The return fire will be classic.
I happened to have CNN on today and Trump was having a rally. At times he sounded like a stand up comedian

So, I have a couple of honest questions for you republicans regarding this election cycle.

I am assuming that most of you are not stupid enough to actually believe that Donald Trump is a reasonable candidate for the presidency. Polls show that most republicans (70% plus) do not want Trump to become president. So I am wondering why so many republicans are voting for him in these primaries.

Funny you should say this because how you feel about Trump is the same way most Americans felt about Obama, Obamacare, a imperial presidency which leaves a large portion of society being forced to accept a pop culture ideology which is inconsistent with the majority of Americans & it's constitution. Congratulations the liberal elites and establishment RINO elites(one in the same) have pushed the people of this country to the extremes we are seeing now. Yes, Barak Obama, Boehner, McConnell, Pelosi, Reed and the whole hee haw gang have ignored the electorate and now extremes will rule the day.

Is it because they are angered by the dismal choices they are being offered, overall, and a Trump vote is a kind of demonstration of that anger to the republican elites? Is it because they are just angry at government in general and want to throw any 'stink bomb' they happen to be able to throw into the works?

No!...You really don't get it do you? You liberals really think people agree with your socialist agenda you are in the minority and outside of the courts forcing it on the people it is wholly rejected in total. People are angry that government has ignored the majority of the electorate, has pushed their failed socialist policies in a country where the majority doesn't want it. They don't want political correctness, they don't want to be taxed to pay for others, especially people that do not even have a legal right to be here, they are sick of elitists in both parties selling out the American worker for profit, and on, and on it goes. The majority are sick & tired of having their wishes ignored...these clowns, and even the chief clown Obama work for us, and the people are willing to take the extreme avenue to change it. Look for more heads to roll in Washington in Nov. as well.

I'm beginning to sense a kind of "let's burn it all down!" attitude among a lot of republicans that feels excessively nihilistic. Is this what's going on?

Just wondering.

Heck, is not the "burn it down" attitude of your president, Reed, Pelosi, etc. forcing their will on the people gotten the ball rolling? I find it hard to believe you cannot connect the dots...or I guess you can continue to deny it whilst groping in the dark for an answer that suits your sensibilities.

Many wise political pundits laughed when Reagan ran for governor. And again when he ran for the presidency.

The only way the republicans can take back the white house is with a candidate who can deliver electoral votes in states that would normally vote for the democrat. In other words a candidate that runs well against the political establishment. Trump is that candidate.
An average of 36 Polls based on "Trump versus Sanders" found that Bernie would win by almost 10%.

Any presidential candidate who would have to think twice about distancing himself from David Duke and the KKK should switch to a different profession!

Does anyone else get a sense that Trump has mostly lived in a bubble for decades ? He hadn't heard of David Duke ? I wonder how out of touch with normal everyday things for the average American he is. He lives the life of a wealthy man, he may not understand the little guy.

Not to mention the fact that he loathes the "little guy", who he considers a "loser".

Well, when I think of 'the Duke" it is either John Wayne or Ellington. I hardly remember this other guy (we are a bit far from the South up here in the North and both these Dukes are from up there).
