Need a thread where we can talk about some shows and what's going on.
So, BEWARE, there will be spoilers throughout the thread.

Shooter

This show airs on USA and Bravo TV stations.
It has the same premise as the movie Shooter that stared Mark Walkburg, but the storyline is not exactly the same.

The movie was so good that I was afraid the TV series would not measure up.
But it has so far. I have watched 5 episodes, and it is turning into a show I don't want to miss.

The Exorsist

The Exorsist

The Exorcist

Airs on Friday nights.

The story is connected with the movie (1973), but picks up the story years later.

The daughter (that was played by Linda Blair in the movie) is now grown, married, with children.
The now grown up Linda Blair character is played by Gena Davis.
She had her named changed so no one knows of her ordeal when she was young.
It was either last week or the week before when this info was revealed (so it's a spoiler if you haven't watched any episodes yet).

The demon in her daughter kept saying, "We want HER".
It was assumed that the demon meant the daughter he was now possessing, but it really wants the mother (who is really Reagan all grown up now).

WestWorld

WestWorld

WestWorld is predicted to beat out Game of Thrones in the Globe Awards.

I watched it.
It was very good and keeps you guessing.
It's hard to predict what what might happen because there are so many different directions that this show can go in.

BTW, my late husband and I saw the original WestWorld movie with Yul Bynner at the theater in 1973.

So good!

The opening to the first episode hooked me. And the explosion in the woods a couple of episodes ago? Awesome spy craft.

"What door?" I was shocked. Can't wait for it to come back.

My favorite line in the show so far was when the crooks had his wife and daughter and he was packing to kill them all.
His cop friend tried to talk him out of it by telling him if he did he would be breaking the law and be no better than them.
Without hesitation, he responds that his family's safety comes before anything else ----- before the law, before civil rights, and before his friend's conscience.

Atta boy!

Two shows with a slightly similar theme.

GENIUS
A private citizen billionaire buys a hospital and equips it with the latest technology and equipment (even some that has not been approved yet).

A.P.B.
A private citizen billionaire buys a police precinct and equips it with the latest technology and equipment.
Everything from weapons to squad cars, and a massive computer bank.
(This show only has two episodes so far.)

The Trailer Park Boys franchise, at least including the first 7 seasons, plus the two double-episodes, plus the 3 movies, is my all time favorite.

I like the Curse of Oak Island, but not for the production company and sensationalism. They could do even better.

:mock: Nick M

And I like Expedition Unknown. Ironically, there is more history on the Travel Channel than the History Channel.

I see the second season of Billions has started up.

I watched the first season and really liked the show.

A self-made billionaire that made his fortune on Wall Street with insider trading deals and hedge (a lot of which he orchestrated himself) is being investigated by U.S. Attorney.
It becomes a cat and mouse game with both trying to outsmart the other.

The U.S, Attorney is Chuck Rhodes, played by Paul Giamatti (whom I think is a very good actor that does not get mentioned a lot).
The billionaire is Bobby Axelrod played by Damien Lewis.

Both of these men try to destroy the other, and dig up all the dirt they can on each other.

Last night Fish decided to go ahead with the hemorrhoid operation, opening
the door for Dietrich to take his place...on Barney Miller.

On "The Andy Griffith Show, " Ange figured out that Melissa and Uncle Fester were trying to scam Barn, as why would Melissa want to marry a "squirt" like Barney. Are you with me, fella?

I liked that show too. Remember the Sanford and Son show where Fred imitated Charles Laughton in Mutiny on the Bounty? He made the most funny face I have even saw on TV!

So during the 3 million in digging on Oak Island, they found treasure chest pieces with their giant crane scoop. It is the end piece with holes that brace the sides. I always thought something went on, but they won't find the treasure, as it is gone. It was just hidden there. But to find a piece of the chest, they might find more scattered remains.

The Trailer Park Boys franchise, at least including the first 7 seasons, plus the two double-episodes, plus the 3 movies, is my all time favorite.
Liquor and dope are something like "MacGuffins" in the franchise, perhaps that unlocks some of the mystery with why I might find it so entertaining. In the whole franchise I only saw one actress crack up, and she worked it right into the scene; I'm impressed with the whole cast's professionalism, plus the heavy Christian overtones of course.

For anyone interested, there are multiple ways to start to become familiar with the franchise. You could just watch their first full-length movie called on Netflix "The Trailer Park Boys Movie" or something like that, since it strove to introduce the world outside of Canadian cable television to the TPB multiverse. You could start at Season 1, or at 2, or at 3 or 4. They started hitting their stride in Season 3, IMO. You could start with the double-episode that takes place after Season 7 called "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys." Or, either of the other movies, although I think those benefit from previous familiarity with the characters, as they both jump right into the story and don't bother explaining anything.
