In the US if you are alright you are alright, if you are not, you are a bum


Plenty of bums in America.

Being a bum is a choice, the opportunity is out there, it is up to the individual to capture it. The difference is the state/other citizens are not responsible for your condition, nor should they be. America does not provide happiness, it affords you the right to pursue it...or to be a bum.

I will tell you a cynical calculation the [out and out] capitalist system makes.

Cater for the 75 per cent and the devil take the hindmost. Of the 75 per cent are a huge swathe who hold down 2 or 3 jobs and are barely making ends meet.

What a load of crap! and a typical response from someone that feels that the government or it's citizenry owe you something more than you are willing to work for. Having money, higher education, a home, etc, are not "gimme's" they are fruits of labor, you degrade those willing to put forth effort to attain them, attempting to turn them into inherent rights and they are not, nor should they be. If you want the better things in a capitalist system you have to get of your dead butt/bum and work for it, a persons financial condition is in their control to change.

I would LOVE to live in America....slong as I got money.

You will do well slong as you are willing to work for your money and quit looking for a handout from fruit of your neighbors labor...he/she doesn't owe you anything, make your own way.

Americans are brainwashed into believing socialism came from Russia. That is not so, socialism comes from the church. In ancient times [before there was America] the church used to care for the poor and sick out of the tithes....King Henry when he abolished the monasteries also grabbed the taxes, and it all went into his pocket.

Even the British Labour party came from the Methodists. All socialism consists of is a different redistribution of taxes...YOU pay as much as I do, but over the centuries we have forced governments to use the taxes we pay more for the benefit of the people.


....of course Americans do not have so much history to study as we do.

So now you believe the Bible makes your case for being a sluggard! It says as much about laziness as it does about helping the impoverished so, if that is the excuse you want to cling to go ahead. When a man stands on the street with a sign that says "will work for food" but, refuses to come help me with my yard work for it that this man is lazy & yes, this is a true story.

Socialism is an ideologic contrivance of man to steal from those that achieve to redistribute to those who won't or can't. It is hardly biblical, nor is it remotely ethical to steal.

I know exactly where the origins of socialism come from and who developed those ideas to the common day form we see & it wasn't the methodists Totty. You can wrap it up any way you please, it is stealing a higher proportionate amount of money or goods from one group that achieves, to give it to another group that does not achieve at that level and those that are the recipients of said theft declare it "FAIR", when in all honesty it is just legalized stealing.

Study this: "The American Revolutionary War" maybe in your studies you can come to an epiphany as to why we parted ways with the King...
