Rainbows impossible before after the "Noah Flood"?

The Bible says there was no rain before the flood?

Gen 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
Gen 2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

I believe that rainbows were possible prior to the flood but after the flood used them as object lessons.

God didn't create rainbows after the flood for the purpose of having a sign to give to Noah...rather God, like He did in other instances in the Bible, uses existing objects to teach/remind people of things.

For example, when Jesus partook of the last supper He used the bread and wine as object lessons for Himself. He didn't create bread at that moment and then say "when you eat this thing that I am calling bread...remember me."
