Agreed. There is nothing wrong with people being proud of their ethnicity.

This is the result of Californians moving in droves to Texas. We'll be seeing stuff like this more and more unless Texas takes a firm stand against left coast liberalism.

In California, everything under the sun causes cancer. My Texas friends believe that Californians cause cancer.

California like every state in the country has places where it is very liberal (cities) and most of the rural areas are very conservative, The problem is that the population of urban areas is so much higher, their liberalism (cancer) controls the state. It is quite broad brush to paint all that live in this screwed up state (California) and say they have any part in, or agree with it's politics. The cancer (liberalism) is everywhere in varying degrees, heck Barbie lives in Texas and he is infected with liberalism...it metastasized on his brain, that's why he says the stupid things he does... :chuckle:

My own racism comes out of fear, as much as I can be aware of it.

And I expect all racism comes from fear of "the other," "the stranger" or "the different." The sign above Main Street shows this on a basic level in my view.

This would explain the racism against Obama and the hatred toward Islam.

I was born and raised in south-central TEXAS, but now live in north-east TEXAS in a town called Greenville.

This sign hung across the main street as you entered the downtown area.
It hung there until the 60's.

What would be your reaction if you drove into a town and saw this sign?

"Ho ho ho n----s-" Merry xmas

I suppose I'd feel obliged to ask what was wrong with the old motto: "Greenville, it's oKKK!"

But I'd make sure I had a full tank of gas and a head start first. :plain:

How long are we Going to allow Terms Like "Race" and "Denomination" to Keep us from Being Brothers?

=M=

They are Simply Terms; and they Lack a True Definitive Definition.
When Did the Term " Race " Start to mean anything other than a "Game to See who was Faster"?

When did the Term, "Denomination" Form?

To Break the Control of those who have Power over you, you have to realize they constantly use terms you don't agree with, and furthermore you don't define them the Same way, Either.

I don't know if it's what you're getting at, but the Bible says nothing about a "brotherhood of man," only that we're all physically of the same blood but either dead to God in Adam or alive to Him in Christ. All who are alive to God are so only through faith in Him according to the Gospel of the grace of God, and in no other way.

Sooooooo ......
you see nothing offensive, and no reason that the sign should be taken down?

Nope, I don't see anything offensive. I'm not a person who thinks all people should like or approve of each other. There's lots of people out there I dislike (not because of race but to each their own) and I assume plenty would dislike someone like me. It doesn't hurt my feelings.

"Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest," an unidentified spokesman at the commission's Policy Department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency

Interesting how easily the Tea Party slides right into right-wing tyrannical and immature racism.
