Question regarding editor in private conversions

The editor in private conversations seems to be extremely limited compared to the one used for normal posting. Is this intentional?

Yes. It is to safeguard against PM box trolling through the sending of unwanted huge graphics - especially porn and link dropping. Remember Patrick Jane link dropping in the PM box. That really hurt the site.

I was thinking more of just the BB Code toggle.
