Psalm 82 another look

I know a number of TOL members don't take well to new perspectives, but I think any reader, who likes to momentarily think outside of the typical commentators' boxes will at least enjoy "my take" on Ps. 82. I know that when I saw the Chapter with this perspective it gave me greater insight on issues.

First you need to think of how it reads like a play with a scene, characters, and dialogue; so, I am going to present it that way. I will add commentary within [...]

Scene:
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he jugdeth among those He calls gods and sons of God. KJV

First character speaks:
"How long will YOU [God] judge unjustly and accept the PERSONS OF THE WICKED?" [notice some of the characters involved are people who have done something wicked.]

The first character not only accuses God of being an unjust God, but he explains why he thinks this ... by continuing with his questions about these wicked people.]

[How long will you ... defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy ...
deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked?
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course."

QUESTIONS FOR YOU:
1.) Who are the PERSONS who are wicked, the fatherless, afflicted, needy, poor, and clueless?
2.) The people who caused the earth to be out of course/wack?

Second character speaks: [After the first speaker finishes his defense by saying the problems with things are God's injutice as a judge because it is the fault of the wicked persons]

I [God and judge] have said, "Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

QUESTION FOR YOU:
Can you conclude who is included within the phrase "all of you"? [I have concluded gods refers to angelic/supernatural beings and sons of God refers to fallen humans. I am suggesting that Satan is defending himself before God and trying to shift the blame off of himself. This makes the next words spoken by God SO important.]

[God says to Satan]
But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

[Wow, I understand die lie men,but who are the princes? Well, on day I saw in the OT how among the tribes of Israel there were leaders referred to a princes ... so, then I understood that was just another way of telling Satan he was going to meet the same fate as humanity small and great.]

Second speaker continues with a fantastic command:
Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Some more questions:
1.) After seeing the capital "G" in God, who is the only God who arose?
2.) Who is the risen God who will return and judge?
3.) What risen God will inherit the nations?
4.) Do you see how God Almighty is speaking of/to the pre-incarnate WORD who was
God and was with God from the beginning?
God Almighty gave the command/or explained the future mission for God our Savior Lord Jesus.

Now, for another enlightenment from all this:
How does Satan die like a man and a earthly prince?
Ans: It is called the Second Death and the Lake of Fire when God gets rid of all things shakable and keeps only what is eternal.
Mankind has a first death ... but lost souls who have not receive the gift of eternal life will be shaken out with Satan at the Second death -Satan's first death ... but still the SAME as men!

QUESTION:
What did God do which enabled these men and angels to be shaken out together? Well, that is Part 2 of my commentary. If you are interested I'll share here.
Thanks to whomever has read my post.

Nice to see so many guest have read my post. I figure if anyone has read my post they will find it hard to read that chapter any other way. Why? Because I believe I've nailed down the truth with the help of the Holy Spirit. Wish some would engage a conversation. This was a trial where God sentences Satan to death in the Lake of Fire ... which seems to be the second death for humanity.

Hello you 194 people. I've given my interpretation of Psalm 82. I do not think that I need to change my ideas... but I would love to see any of you take Ps82 verse by verse and insert what you think is happening ... within the dialogue at this trial. Personally I've never seen anyone tackle this chapter in this way. I have heard a short explanation that somehow God was condemning people upon the earth for being unjust judges. I'd like to see someone take the verses and show me how that can be the conclusion?

You've tackled nothing. You've aired your partly false/partly nonsensical raving, and are asininely calling it "tackling Psalm 82".

[God says to Satan] But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Here, you are brazenly lying about the text by your insertion of "God says to Satan". Nothing, whatsoever, in the text indicates God is addressing Satan.

Funny how, here, you wrote:
I read my KJV Bible ... have for many years ... and I have found some threads that tie things together.
Yet, instead of quoting Psalm 82:2 from the KJV, which reads:

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

...you chose to quote from something other than the KJV:
First character speaks:
"How long will YOU [God] judge unjustly and accept the PERSONS OF THE WICKED?" [notice some of the characters involved are people who have done something wicked.]
...which you did in order to try to hide your lying with the ambiguous "you" (which you even all-capped and bolded) as a smokescreen, since the second-person, plural pronoun "ye" in the KJV leaves no doubt that it is not God (singular) being accused of judging unjustly, but instead, they are men (plural) being accused (by God) of judging unjustly.
I have heard a short explanation that somehow God was condemning people upon the earth for being unjust judges.
And, you continue in your inability and failure to prove your falsehood that verse 2 is not God accusing men on earth for being unjust judges.

I had only heard one Bible teacher try to explain Psalm 82. Suggestions were made that earthly judges were not being fair and God wanted them to shape up and be more understanding and fair to people under their power. At the time those comments seemed pretty weak, but my focus was on other topics.

Then, one day chapter 82 became of great interest to me. Guess I had learned more information about the works of The LORD God. Plus the use and threads of symbolism through out scripture seemed valuable for understanding things.

I found the terms ground and dust gave deeper insight into the plans of God. Mainly God connected both mankind and Satan to those same elements of creation - and then cursed those elements. I'm prone to study scripture always asking questions, "Why those two things and the two actions?"

I learned about the second death and that it had to do with the Lake of Fire. "Why a second death? Wasn't once enough to separate the lost from the saved?"

I realized God explained man's purpose even before there was a body for them. "How was that suppose to play out in Earth time?"

Well, suddenly the events of Psalm 82 began to become clear for me. Especially when I realized the details of the event were written out as dialogue between two characters. When I read it like dialogue I knew one character was standing in front of the one called God Almighty his judge. Using questions that character began to plead his own defense. The list of things he was questioning began with, "How long will ye judge unjustly ..." Well, the antecedent for the pronoun "ye" was God Almighty the judge. This character was accusing God of being unfair to him and then started listing all the reason God was unjust. IOW, God you can't judge me fairly for look how biased you are!!!

Look at the list which suggested that God was biased:
  1. You, God, accept the PERSONS of the wicked.
  2. You, God, defend the poor and fatherless:
  3. You do justice to the afflicted and needy
  4. You deliver the poor and needy
  5. You rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand [IOW, these persons are clueless]. They walk on in darkness and [due to these persons] all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Now, I ask those here reading some questions:
  • Who would you say are the persons who became like orphans?
  • Who became afflicted and now are poor and needy?
  • Who needs protection from the wicked?
  • Who caused all the foundations of the earth to be out of course?
I pray that you see these orphaned needy PERSONS to be all of humanity. Due to the original sin our kind were afflicted by the actions of one man/Adam/male and female. To this day we need deliverance and protection in a sinful world. Yet, so many are clueless.
  • Who is the great accuser of mankind? You know! He is the one accusing God of injustice and accusing mankind to try to divert his own responsibility and guilt. Since you now understand this character to be Satan, what God says next is apropos.
God Almighty begins to speak to Satan and it reveals so much to your and me:
Verse 6 "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High." [The pronoun YE stands for YOU. YOU can be singular or plural so you have to look at the context, find the antecedent, and figure out whether it is singular or plural. It is obvious that God is speaking to an individual and seems to be speaking about a whole group of individuals. After all, Satan has just been accusing mankind; so, when God adds ALL OF YOU, we know the pronouns YE is plural in this case.

In fact, as God continues to speak he mentions both of those groups he considers to be gods and children of God. My interpretations inside [...].
Verse 7 "But ye [Satan,the one standing before God] shall die like men [the ones you've mentioned], and [also] fall like one of the princes [them].

One last jewel of revelation from Psalm 82. Someone else was present at this trial and God Almighty speaks to him and reveals his mission to the crowd. Watch you will recognize Him.

Verse 8 "Arise, O God, judge the earth; for thou shalt inherit all nations.
Who is the only God who arose from the dead ... and will return as a judge and rule the nations for 1,000 years until God is ready to end all things ... The Second Death.

After seeing these things in Psalm 82 I began to seek in earnest how God would bring about a SECOND DEATH and for whom would it be.

I'm guessing everyone but me already knew what I've written above ... and I'm just excited that I discovered it.

Yet, this chapter led me to figure out so many other things like:
  • Who were called gods, sons of God and children of the most High;
  • who were the people to which Cain fled when God sent him away from Adam's family and from HIS Presence;
  • where and how the curse upon the ground takes angels and mankind to the second death;
  • why Satan argued with an angel to have the dead body of Moses;
  • what is the second death all about; who dies;
  • why God waits having long suffering until the end of this world as we know it;
  • why we still suffer in this world even though Christ has over come sin, death and hell;
  • why was it part of the plan for Jesus the Messiah to die and so forth to rescue us.
