Prayer Request for My Grandfather

My grandfather is very likely to die relatively soon. Probably within a year. Maybe later, probably sooner. I ask that you pray for him, implore God's mercy, and ask Him that he might receive a happy death and a merciful judgment.

For those of you who are Catholics, I ask that you remember him at mass and when you pray the rosary, the chaplet of the divine mercy, and your other devotions.

For those of you who are not Catholics, whatever your manner of prayer might be, do commend my grandfather to the mercy of God in your prayers.

Thank you all.

I will pray that he pass from death to life and not come into judgment.
I will also pray the same for you.

I will pray that you share the good news of our salvation. Justice for him has already been paid. He does not need mercy again. The offer is already there.

Ask him to place his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he was raised from the dead for everybody.

Re 22:18

:eek:linger: Traditio had rejected the good news (Ju 11). :burnlib: Hopefully he isn't a Catholic himself (Ro 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9, 10:13). :poly:

prayer works

I have faith especially in this. When we pray, we ask God for things we need, things that He has promised to give us, if only we ask Him. Through prayer, all things are possible, even things which are humanly impossible, and even things about which we otherwise might despair. Why? Because in prayer, we rely, not on our own power, but on the power of a merciful and loving God, for whom "all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

My grandfather has died this morning. Commend him in your prayers to the mercy of God, and pray that he may stand before Jesus, not as Just Judge, but as Merciful Savior.

Catholics: Commend him especially to the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary.

Is it really necessary to have a theological argument in this precise context? Save the debates for another context: now is the time for prayer.
