I mean, who would give up all that, for Jesus?

Ben, WLG was referring to the Pharisees imaginary Spiritual wealth.

Also, they had a deep say in synagogue matters. This was also what WLG was talking about.

He was speaking to members of the nation of Israel.

Exod 4:22-24 (AKJV/PCE)​
(4:22) And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel [is] my son, [even] my firstborn: (4:23) And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, [even] thy firstborn. (4:24) ¶ And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. ​

This is why Jesus taught THEM to pray "OUR Father".

Jamie and I scuffle quite a bit.

It's my way of showing good sportsmanship and a lack of hard feelings.

Also, Jamie is pointing out that Jesus is our most intimate relationship, as He has shown Himself to be every possible relationship to us throughout scripture.

Do you disagree with this?

Only if you are a necromancer; I mean, from the people who have a friendly relationship with the dead. Jesus is dead and there is nothing we can do because his own gospel, the Tanach, says that once dead no one will ever return from the grave. (II Samuel 12:23; Isaiah 26:14; Job 7:9; etc.

There is absolutely nothing eternal about man and Jesus could not contradict the Word of God by promising eternal life to any one. He was a Jew and he knew only too well about this. Then for evidence, when Adam & Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden, the reason was to prevent them from eating of the tree of life and live forever. (Genesis 3:22) Why? Because life everlasting belongs with HaShem only.
