I agree, Clete, except that some onlooker might benefit from us laying out the contrasting positions and sometimes I just feel the need to rehearse an argument that may be useful in a face to face encounter in the real world.

I completely agree! The occasional onlooker and practice for one's own benefit is the only really good reason to be doing this in the first place.

My explanation of how he is the ONE God and the personage of the Godhead is this [as short as I can make it without adding scripture references]. I can add those if wanted:

• Genesis writes that God had an image ... before mankind was created.
• One God one image for his personal use.
• God created an image for humanity after the likeness of his own existing image. but there would be many people to come and each would bear their own image. People are not like God who can have only ONE image and use it as often as he wanted. I think I've seen where HE used it as three multiples/or three individuals simultaniously... unto Abraham and Sarah. Another it think I've found a time when God manifested his presence as two individuals of the God head to Jacob when a pact was made between Jacob and Laban.
• I understand that these manifestations would support the concept: of Our [plural pronoun] image [singular image].

So who is Jesus? God once again used his ONE image to represent himself as the ONE God unto men ... but giving himself mortal flesh was a miracle God was working on mankind's behalf. Only God could correct all that is wrong with humanity physically and spiritually. Jesus is part of the God head ... which is the ONE Spiritual God using his ONE image to come into creation to work on our behalf.

Because the manifested promised Messiah from God suffered pain and humiliation in flesh, God has established him as a person of the God Head to received all glory and honor for what he did and suffered willingly for us. God made acknowlegment of the Christ to be the only way to get back to the Father God.

This is called "Modalism" and its only been considered a heresy for no more than about one thousand eight hundred years!

Sabellius, the father of modalism, was excommunicated for basically this same teaching around AD 220, more than a century before the Council of Nicaea in AD 325.

It little more than a twist on a very old denial of the Trinity. If you're going to make up your own religion, please use someone else's holy book or maybe just go write one yourself! You're an embarrassment.
