Odd Things People Say Online

I have always had pets, and only dated people who have pets. I don't know why, just worked out that way.

As for people who hate pets, I had a neighbor like that. Her house was always immaculate, she considered animals "filthy". She did not let her kids play at our home, because of our "filthy" animals. Okay. She was one of those type "A" people. Always had to be perfect, she was stressed all the time, rail thin, always in a hurry. I felt bad for her. And her kids! She had a block party once at her home, where every one brought pot luck, she did not eat a bite of food, I think she did not want to eat food from "filthy" homes.

But she was not abusive to animals, she just did not like them

...
They are completely self-centered and have no compassion or empathy for another living creature. Animals give us unconditional love, that is more than I can say for some humans.
There is nothing wrong with people who don't have pets, same as people who choose not to have children.
...

I love dogs but I hate cats..
..
That's funny, I'm the opposite. I love cats but wouldn't own a dog. I don't hate dogs I just don't care for the needy needy aspect. I give dog love to my friends and families dogs, thats enough for me....
...
I have 8 cats
...
I hate bullies. I was bullied all through school and even today as an adult I find some people have never grown out of that juvenile behavior. I am currently being ganged up on in another thread by a bunch of them.

Is it any wonder I would prefer the companies of animals to people ? Animals don't judge you and just love you unconditionally.
...
Animals are the last refuge
...
My point is, I find it very hard to trust someone who hates animals. It’s like saying you hate all babies. Or you hate all old people.
...
Owning a dog is selfish. It is for your pleasure, not theirs. Animals are happiest in the wild.
...
I came to this semi-realisation a few months ago; people who dislike animals are not to be trusted. As in, they are probably not very good people.
...
I’m not sure that I could make a statement that people who don’t like animals are not to be trusted, but I do find it very strange. But then I would wouldn’t I, because I care about animals a great deal, and to be fair, most people consider my attitude towards animals very strange. I can’t kill anything,
...
In fact, I do hate animals. I know you cringed, everyone always does.
“What kind of a person doesn’t like animals?!,” they say.
I’ll tell you what kind of person, someone who knows animals for what they are: gross and dirty creatures.
It’s like the whole world is wearing animal goggles and fails to see that.
...
think she's trying to come off as bad and "alpha female" as she seems to enjoy writing about. It's a little too try-hard to be believable in my opinion.
...
Any person who hates animals is a psychopath.

one of my pet peeves
is
not properly titling your thread

do you want to talk about pets?
or

I've had pets most of my life. Dogs, cats, horses, goats and miscellaneous and sundry livestock. I have two Yorkies presently.

That being said, I still have to grin at the old W. C. Fields quote.

"Ah Yaz! Anyone who hates kids and dogs can't be ALL bad."

Not so as to suggest that it is appropriate to hate either, but because it implies that, surely, some good can be found in even such a person as that.

we have too many dogs
many do not know how to deal with people
so
they get a dog
and
they don't seem to care that their dog is a problem for others

I love animals, all animals. they are victims of humanity and lose there homes and territory. Pets don't know anything and rely on us for survival. Plus the love; unconditional love.

Do you think way too many men are not masculine these days? They just don't act manly in so many ways in my experience, but what do you girls think?
...

I agree and find that usually the guys that claim they are "nice guys" and complain are really guys that act like a doormat around a girl they like, and they assume that bending over backward for a girl is gonna get them positive attention. It doesn't. It makes them look like pushovers with no confidence to even hold their own opinion. No girl wants that.
...

Courage is not an easy thing to have. I don't think someone should be judged as a sissy.
...
You can thank feminism for that. It's tough being a man; so of course if men are told that not only do they not have to be masculine, but that masculinity is oppresses women and is wrong, many men are going to give up. That's what feminism told men.

...
I feel that being a tomboy for girls is more accepted because we don’t care about the stigmas that people might say about it. With guys they tend to wonder what others say about them. To me i feel that men are more insecure then women.
...
’‘It’s a man’s a world’
...
will vote for the metro guys anyday. My father was a 200% testosterone driven, hairy beast and a domineering, aggressive, hardened, militaristic male, so the farther away I am from that, the better. I am repulsed by macho guys like him.
...
I don't like macho men who are totally old fashioned and pigs.
...
Macho men seem to be shallow, I'm sure all of the macho dudes:confused: aren't though.
...
As I discovered long ago through experience and have already stated here many times, women say they want the "caring, nice guy" but they instead tend to perceive that as "weak" and in reality they're most attracted to the arrogant jerks. I agree that it’s not fair that women can act like tomboys and men can’t act like “sissys” or girls. There is definitely a negative connotation to the word sissy and much less the word tomboy.

I have never met anyone who hated animals. So I don't see the point of this thread. Why make up people to hate? Why hate people at all? What value does this add to your life?

I don't "hate" anyone, but I do have a hard time dealing with grown-ups who cannot control their own emotions, and so 'spew' them all over everyone else. I had a boss one time that was like that. He was a complete mess, emotionally, because he had never developed the habit of accepting responsibility for his own feelings, and then learning how to properly deal with them. So he went through life constantly dumping on everyone around him, because as the boss, he could get away with it.

Last I knew of him his wife had left him, his kids hated him, and were afraid of him, and he was in the process of losing his business, too, all because he wouldn't take responsibility for his own emotions. Everything he felt had to be someone else's fault. And because he was the boss, people didn't just punch him in the mouth, which is what he deserved much of the time, for dumping his emotional crap on everyone else. He will die lonely and broke and despised.

What a sad excuse for a man.

Yet he could buy a dog, and the dog would love him unconditionally, regardless. :)

These are all taken from other posts on threads on other forums, all are the ideas of others I find odd. I cannot link to the threads per rules, They are nevertheless real comments.

I agree, why would anyone hate animals? If one does not like having pets, fine, so don't have them. The odd part is people do debate these silly things; it is common online topics today.

Sometimes you respond like a wacko.
And you thought this response made sense??? :chuckle:

I really never have met anyone who hates animals. And I'm almost 60 years old. So I'm guessing there are very few people in the world who actually hate animals.

You managed to meet one, I guess. But I didn't see how this was relevant to anything. So I just responded with a condition I really don't like. Not about animals, but people.

No need to get huffy about it.

I have not either, yet these posters say it, and that is my point, they are oddballs. I read them not met them. Yes them as they are several different persons.

I'm not huffy; I think you are being obtuse.
