Acts 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Who are we here Peter speaks of ? Its Jesus people that its promised He shall save them from their sins, that's Salvation. Matt 1:21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

He shall save his people is a promise. So by it being a Divine Promise, we must be saved by Jesus . The word must in Acts 4:12 is the greek word dei and its an verb which means:

it is necessary, there is need of, it behooves, is right and proper, binding, put under obligation

  1. necessity lying in the nature of the case,
necessity established by the counsel and decree of God, especially by that purpose of his which relates to the salvation of men by the intervention of Christ and which is disclosed in the Old Testament prophecies

Since God in Christ has promised it shall happen, its most necessary that it happens.

Thats why Christ was made like unto His brethren Heb 2:17

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

The word behoved is the greek word opheilō, it was due Him for Him to be made like unto His Brethren as part of the fulfillment of the promise to save His people from their sins.

So Yes there is a people Christ Jesus must save, and shall save ! Its His People given to Him, Chosen in Him before the foiundation of the world Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Let's try to nail this down. When does a person get saved, when he believes and receives the word of God preached to him by the Holy Spirit, or when Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world?
